That's outstanding. I haven't done that since I was about 6, and Mom almost killed us then.

And if they wake you up at 3:30, they're getting up with you at 6:30 as well.

They did..i needed very loud music for my shower, as well as slamming of every single door I had to touch.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #173: (Insert Title)

Are you going to be able to keep up with all of them?

Planning graduation party for Lil  Anyone have words of wisdom other than this is a sign I am getting old? I throw a huge open house every yr without trouble but people come and go and after close to 30 yrs people have times they come and it is kind of predictable. Looking at the invite list- over 100 with church, friends, family. My house is big but not that big.

Trying to think of something to do that does memories and all the pics I have but with all the other stuff I might need to be 3 people to do everything I want to

What kind od stuff did you like, not like about the grad parties you went to?

We did picture boards for mine, and it looked awesome, but all of the boards are hanging in my empty bedroom at my folks' place. Graduation party..My suggestion is do it Memorial Day. Not many do it then, and it allows Lil to have most of his guests attend, as well as attend many of his classmates without conflict.

Date is set already. He is competing Mem Day WE. I like having a room set aside for memories. Hmmmm

Threw my back out today. So much fun!

And I wasn't even bending, twisting, or lifting anything when I did it. I was just going to take a little jog to run after the dog here and POP! I'm reaching for my low back and walking funny.

So much Suck! :mad::mad::mad:

I threw out my back sitting down once. That was great.

Happens to me every year and a half or so after a bad accident I had in 2006. Can't do much of anything for about a week. Hope you're on the mend more quickly than that.

Happens to me about once a year. Usually I try and gut it out. The last time it happened (about a month or so ago) I gave in and just did the home rehab. Was better in about 2-3 days.

Never thrown my back out, but I remember when I tripped and fell on the sidewalk twice in the same week last year. Caused bursitis, nasty bruising, and my right leg to swell to twice the size of my left.

Hola!

Only thing that usually happens to me is getting a tweaked neck while sleeping, usually on soft beds/pillows. Maybe every 4-6 months, which probably means I'm due for it to happen...

Les, another idea for food/grad party stuff is make stuff that can be served in crock pots or the like. I remember my party/several friends had meatballs, baked beans, etc served this way. Cook overnight or what have you, and ready for the party.

I think my Mom pulled out several albums, but also had a few picture poster/boards with the better pictures. That way, nobody had to flip through albums if they didn't want to.

Also had friends stay for a "post-party grad party". As long as nobody drove, my parents were fine with it. Good times. And also, holy cow was that really 7 years ago?!

That's the key point. Whenever my buddy had a get-together (obviously in hindsight the parents knew, they always know), he collected the keys and locked them away for the night. Because of that, we had a bit more leeway in our goings-on.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #173: (Insert Title)

We did cheesy pulled turkey sandwiches and my goodness they were absolutely fantastic.

Many grad parties ended up with the post party as long as the keys were put away. Lots of time various parents would sit and reminisce with us. It was awesome, really.

My party was gigantic.. I was very involved in a lot of things, and I'm EXTREMELY outgoing, so we had way too many people come through. I suppose I could've cut the list down a bit, but I felt like many people influenced my life and I wanted them to share that day with me. It was great, but for the three hours I was there, it was an extreme blur of greeting everyone.

The fact it was already three years ago is entirely baffling to me.

This is what Lil thinks.

No after party here. We have a couple of policemen living in close distance and both Mr and I could lose our professional licenses if anything untoward happened. I don't think Lil drinks at this point. It would mess with his training. Pretty sure this is why he is not hanging with people on the weekend. Despite the town big bigs thinking our children don't do anything there are a lot of alcohol and other drugs. No health class, no push in schools to educate about what happens and a bunch of undereducated parents who view life as one long opportunity to drink (as in their life revolves around waiting for the next opportunity if they aren't drinking). Lotttttttttts of ETOH here. I think we have the most bars per population in the state.

Morning Lodge.

Went and saw some feathered turkey's on the bbdl homestead yesterday. Should be some good spots for Jr to try to kill one. Bo is a great doggy, handsome, friendly and well-behaved.

Jr's last spring hockey game yesterday. Best chirp was from a ref. Some punk on the other team who got tagged Goldylocks for his long hair, went way over the line in closing minutes and got tossed. Said FU to the ref who replied "Enjoy Junior Gold." (Meaning he won't play varsity.)

So gmann, looks like Jr will be camping at the shooting range with one of his buddies on the team for the big shooting event up there. No hotels to be had in Alex by the time the other dad called a couple weeks ago.

This may be an over-share, but I threw mine out once sitting on the pot reaching back to wipe my arse. :D

Seriously.

Mine used to pop every once in a while several years ago and it was awful. Upper-middle of my back and it was so bad that taking a breath was agony - like a sharp stick was being jabbed into my lung.

The butt wiping day kept me home from work, but I went and got pain-killers, so it turned out to be a pretty decent day, iirc.

Luckily my back hasn't done that in 7 or 8 years, which is weird coz for a few years there it would happen every few months and usually while doing something pretty mundane.

Now I have nerve damage in my neck/right shoulder - from a hockey injury and made worse by using the mouse too much (for my job) and I also have SI joints that are messed up - also from hockey... big fat dude landed on top of me.

Haven't had a day without some discomfort or other for many, many years.

You get used to it though... I guess.
