Had a nice day today. Went to the park with Rubette and her youngest, then we all got ice cream at the local ice cream shop and sat outside in the warm spring weather. I tell ya, small town living is still kind of odd to me. Of course, wearing a Canadiens jersey probably didn't help me "blend in" with the townies. ;)

I might have to keep this in the bag of tricks.. Joke ended up being on them.. They were riding down the stairs in laundry baskets and are paying for it today.. Or were, until I got home from work and they were all plowed already.

That's outstanding. I haven't done that since I was about 6, and Mom almost killed us then.

And if they wake you up at 3:30, they're getting up with you at 6:30 as well.

Brakes started grinding pretty bad yesterday on Vera's car. Changed the brake pads today. Holy hell every single bolt was rusted on hard. I was going to replace the rotors as well, as it vibrates pretty good when braking. But, I quickly found out that I didn't have a socket large enough to take off the hub. Another day soon perhaps. Effing cars.

Are you going to be able to keep up with all of them?

Planning graduation party for Lil :eek: Anyone have words of wisdom other than this is a sign I am getting old? I throw a huge open house every yr without trouble but people come and go and after close to 30 yrs people have times they come and it is kind of predictable. Looking at the invite list- over 100 with church, friends, family. My house is big but not that big.

Trying to think of something to do that does memories and all the pics I have but with all the other stuff I might need to be 3 people to do everything I want to

What kind od stuff did you like, not like about the grad parties you went to?

Off to the BigBlue homestead with Jr to look for turkeys again (yes, the feathered kind).

les, I liked the slide show on the lap top or projector that just scrolled through all the photos, etc. Just leave it running and people can watch then wander off for a while and maybe go back later as time allows.

We are getting ready for open house number 2, The Lass graduates late this month (CDH for those of you in the Twin Cities).
Instead of boards with pictures I put together a video, burn it onto a DVD and let it run during the party. A lot easier to scan the old pictures and put them right back than put them on a board and try and remember what album they were in. It was really fun to do and it went over very well when I did YE's a couple years ago.

We do pulled turkey sandwiches, I cook about 10 breasts in a crock pot then freeze until the big day. Easy to do and not too expensive. Plus I hate Sloppie Joes so I won't make those. :)

You could always take a pair of scissors to the zipper of a favorite pair of jeans of there's. Just one small cut to mess the zipper up and its something they're not likely to notice until they're out in public.

Beer. Boat cruise. Those were probably the two best. :D

Most of the ones I went to were similar. A couple boards set up with pictures of the grad, various deli meats and cheeses set up to make sandwiches, and a cake.

Pretty much. The only one that was anything different, one friend had his closest friends (about 6-10 or so) stay for the night for a night of drinking and cards, etc after everyone else left, after a "normal" run of the mill thing.
