Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #173: (Insert Title)

While I'll probably jinx it, I haven't received an invite to play Candy Crush, Bubble Safari or any of the other idiotic games in quite some time. I didn't know if the invites were automatically generated or if the Facebook friend specifically sent one. I was hoping it was automatically generated because I really hate the idea of having to block someone because they keep inviting me.

When your friends are playing a game, it will ask them to invite their FB contacts. They either click yes or no (or otherwise worded) and it sends out to everyone. There are other times where it just posts to their timeline, which then shows up in your feed. I'd have to imagine that there's a certain percentage of those that are accidentally sent when someone's tapping away at their screen while playing a game and the question just appears without the user expecting it.

I hate the FB game crap and don't care if someone got a new cow on their fricken farm....You can block the apps so you never see them again. If you see one look for the little down arrow next to the post and you should be able to choose how you want to block. When you get notifications there should be a little x next to it, this will allow to to stop getting more from that app (or person).

Thanks.

I only access via iPhone. Not sure it gives me those options.........

Good morning Lodge. Happy Sunday. Unpacking, doing laundry, then packing for the Frozen Four. Looks like the weather should be OK. I hope.

My upstairs neighbor decided to vacuum at 8:45am. Woke me up. Who vacuums that early on a SUNDAY??
The guy next door to me weedwacks at 6:45 AM and snowblows at 11PM (he is home before then, he just decides to get going then). Maybe our neighbors are related.

That's why I am mostly glad about my apt complex's rules: no appliances (like dishwasher) are to be in use between 10pm-8am. Sometimes it does put crimp in my plans, due to my work schedule (sometimes it's tough to get a full load of laundry done during the week), but overall, it's a good policy, and it's followed/enforced.

I think you can, just not sure if there as many options.
You could also access FB via Safari and see if you have more options.

I am pretty much going to hell, just blocked all from ILoveJesusDailyOnline on FB. :D
Friend who recently went on a secret government mission has found a substitute in religion...

For phones, I think Social Fixer still works. Facebook Purity only works on computers, though. They block anything you want them to block, including keywords (ex: babies)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #173: (Insert Title)

I just checked in for my flights home tomorrow and have a middle seat for my Denver-Boston flight. Ugh.
You have to pick the right seats as soon as it is booked...checking this late is just asking for travel suffering.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #173: (Insert Title)

So what really is the point in checking in online? I did that yesterday and printed out my boarding passes. But I checked a bag (I really don't feel like lugging my roller board thru two flights) so I had to check in all over agin so I could pay. Now I have two boarding passes for each flight. Seems like the only airlines where it matters is Southwest so you can get a higher boarding number.
The advantage is you don't have to check in again at the airport, you can just go to the baggage drop counter, show them your cell phone with your boarding pass on it, and they take your bag. No waiting in an additional line.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #173: (Insert Title)

Because my laptop has the forums on the mobile view that I cannot seem to change, I will answer this way:

1. When I booked that flight online, seat selection was not available. That happens sometimes and I do not know why. When I checked in online, it gave me the seat at that time that I was not able to select when I booked the flight.

2.Not all airlines and not all airports are set up the same. Some have a separate bag drop line that I can go right to and show my boarding pass. That line is usually longer than the line to use the kiosks to check in. Some don't and I have to wait in the same line as everyone else. It seems like the best reason/time to use it is when you aren't checking any bags. You can right to security.

Well, a plus of the Mavs losing last weekend is going to their house for a keg day. Today has been quite the hangover, though.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #173: (Insert Title)

The boys and I were outside today for nearly four hours. Felt good to be out in the fresh air. Cripes it was a nasty and long winter.

i'm definitely one of those *******s that vacuum at 9 or 10 at night. i don't have a dishwasher or washing maching/dryer, though, so, my neighbors can deal with the 10 minutes it takes for me to clean my whole apartment.

i thought i was getting away from the morons when i left Saginaw. today, we got a call at work that one of our flamingos was out, walking along a major street. we counted the flamingos (and peacocks, just to be safe), everyone accounted for. turns out, it was a wild turkey. i appreciate people trying to help us out, but seriously, elementary kids know the difference between a turkey and a flamingo.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #173: (Insert Title)

Wow. That is a serious leap of faith b/w a turkey and Flamingo.
