Good Morning Lodge!
Good Morning Lodge!
"Near impossible." Take note. "Near" is the key word.
S'upp y'all
Take em to see that timberlake movie where friends boink![]()
I just checked in for my flights home tomorrow and have a middle seat for my Denver-Boston flight. Ugh.
4 hours in the middle seat...what are the odds that you will get a screaming baby nearby as well?
So what really is the point in checking in online? I did that yesterday and printed out my boarding passes. But I checked a bag (I really don't feel like lugging my roller board thru two flights) so I had to check in all over agin so I could pay. Now I have two boarding passes for each flight. Seems like the only airlines where it matters is Southwest so you can get a higher boarding number.
Going thru security and I took my Red Sox hat off to put in the bin to be scanned and the security guy made some funny ha ha snide comment like "was that yours? Should've made you turn it inside out!" Like what the **** did I ever do to him?Must've been a Tigers fan or Cardinals fan or something. I just smiled and said "Everyone hates a champion, huh."
ETA: on this quick flight from COS to DEN baby in seat right in front of me. And some woman in the gate having a hissy fit about something....promised a seat on this flight or something. Swearing, *****ing about United. It was getting a bit uncomfortable. Glad we boarded.

Good morning Lodge.
So far the g family has 9 camping trips lined up between May and September.
Rats.So I am giving up on the job in Denver. I've realized that they've simply strung me along for almost a month now. I was supposed to have a phone discussion with the Denver team and then they were going to make me an offer. I've sent my HR contact numerous times in which I could've been available for that discussion over the past 3-4 weeks. HR contact hasn't made it happen, and I even took the initiative to reach out to him last week with ALL of the times I'd be available this week. No response in the week and a half since.
I suspect they've been negotiating with other candidates (either cheaper and/or local) this entire time.
The dream is dead, and I'm quite unhappy about it. I'll move on from this opportunity, but it's going to take a few days. On the plus side, my expense check from the Boston interview arrived yesterday.
At the end of this month I'll have been with my employer for 10 full years. I've had "official" training only once, on how to write a RUP style use cases, and that was 6 years ago. It doesn't help, of course, that I've been involved in completely changing how we write use cases, going from RUP to a graphical format with supporting detail docs.On another positive note, I did have an interview with a perspective boss at a local company on Wednesday afternoon. I thought it went well, so I'm waiting to hear back on that one.
Also, my current employer has arranged to send me to Android app developer training in May. Last month, I went to ServiceNow admin training. That's the only formal training that the company has arranged in my entire three years here. So if I'm still around, that's a step in the right direction from my POV.

And the ge family does not. Thank God.
Mrs. GE & I are contemplating a late July trip to the Pacific Northwest. We have a nephew who lives in Seattle & I have cousins in the Tri Cities area who own/operate a winery. Plus, Mrs. GE really, really, wants to go to Vancouver Island & (specifically) the Butchart Gardens.
I have been to Spokane numerous times on business trips and to Vancouver once.
Mrs g and I have been discussing driving to the NW next summer with the boys and camping along the way. We have been tossing around the idea of taking a month.
