I love regional weekend, too. My son was thrilled when I told him I was getting tickets for The X this weekend. Should be fun. :)

Flip side is I never got into Final Five weekend. We had tickets from its first year for about 5-6 years but gave them up, got to be too much with the HS tourney the weekend before.

It was hard to attend regionals the weekend after the Final Five because it just wasn't even close in comparison. Love watching as many games as possible on TV, but attending isn't as easy, especially with ticket prices.

I hear you. I got a little burned out on hockey and Civic Center (back in the day) after the HS tourney. Two weekends in a row is a lot.

The nice thing about the regional is it's not every year and when a regional is in the Twin Cities and MN qualifies for the NCAA's they will (usually) stay home.

Congrats, JF!

And Sloe Gin just kinda gave up posting. It wasn't his interest anymore. Also, for the past couple years, he and Quizmire were training for (and succeeded in accomplishing) the AZ Ironman last fall.

Well, Apple officially owns me as I received my iPhone 5 today - upgraded from an android.

Got 2 MacBooks, 1 iMac, 6 or 7 iPods and now this.

I need an iPad!

Dang if this isn't a nice phone though! :)

Trying to refinance my mortgage. I was not working Friday so I had the chance to call the mortgage broker guy without worrying about cubemates listening in, etc. Got an email afterwards asking me to pull together a bunch of items. Didn't say what to do with them. Today I got the mortgage application in an email to my home address and a call to my home phone. I didn't get home till after 6:00pm and didn't check my messages till after dinner.

The mortgage application was this long and complicated thing that I'm not mentally prepared to deal with at 9:00pm. The letter said they wanted it by Wednesday along with all the paperwork. Even if I wasn't traveling, there would have been no way I could get everything to them. This is why I hate doing this stuff. I fly tomorrow night and don't get back till Friday night. I have limited time to talk to them tomorrow but I hope they call me. What a pain in the *** this all is.

We are sliding that way, have a MacBook, starting to look at an iMac and I love my iPhone 5.

Happy Birthday Flashy Man!!

Looking through the last few months at birthdays and seeing some of the early lodgers appear to have retired completely and some just never visit here anymore (:( ). Thinking back, it is amazing how long the lodge and it's various bars/tables have existed.

brianvf still posts over on SiouxSports.com.

What about ecbrevik? Very meticulous about his lawn and his rocks, that guy.
I'm still around, but almost exclusively in the Extras thread. Life has gotten extremely busy, and I just haven't had the time to be able to keep up with the Lodge, too many posts. Extras is a bit slower and I can keep up by just dropping in a few minutes every day or three.

As a very quick update on what I've been doing in recent years, I've gotten involved in the European Geosciences Union and keep making trips to Europe (Austria, Spain, and Germany). I've been doing a lot of writing, publishing several papers and a book, and am an executive editor for a new international soil science journal. As les mentioned, I've also had a pebble (almost 2 years old now, with his own Sioux hockey jersey ;) )

I hear ya. I'm also at a point in my life where I have more flexibility to attend the high school tournament and then the Final Five. That'll change at some point, I'm sure. Thankfully now, there's a week break.

I'll be ****ed my man, congrats on all of that stuff! Smart job of you to get the pebble a Sioux jersey already. Sounds like you're enjoying your rock lifestyle.:p Hope all is well with you as your family, including your lawn.;)
