Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #173: (Insert Title)

Forgot to mention, my son is heading to beantown tomorrow.

Some sort of conference dealio at Harvard. He went last year and enjoyed it, think he's even more excited this year since he's 21 now. :)

Mookie needs to climb atop his house and sprinkle ice melt with abandon

If GE is gonna lead a team it may be time to wear his WWMD bracelet :D

It's blue, too, so it's kind of like snow glitter. Or Walter's Blue Meth. :D

Not retiring early, no powerball for me.

Similarly, I'll be staying in school.

Scarlet, I presume the family knows the time, money, and passion you put into BU Hockey..They should know. Unless you're close with the SIL's father, then I'd consider going..never know at that age how much time is left.

We're very close with her family and he's the sweetest man. I was kind of hoping that since he's 90 and her mom is in a nursing home that it would be a luncheon. :)

GE - we're due to get another nor'easter Saturday/Sunday so if he gets stuck, I'm happy to help if I can.

Morning

My Valentines day plans include dropping my car off for emissions and state inspection. Romantic, I know!

Maybe I'll get flowers and take her to dinner. She doesn't really care about the traditional gifts though.

Morning Lodge. Chilly out today. Congrats GE. Man, 3M will hire and promote anybody, eh?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #173: (Insert Title)

Job offer extended and accepted today; new position at Mother Mining.
Will be in the same group but as a team lead.
Yay me. :)
Raising my mug of cocoa~ congrats

Congrats, GE!

Good news for you easterners: my building alone is shipping out about 80K lbs of ice melt your way. From the rough look of the 2 orders, 50K shipping out on Fri, and the other 30K on Monday.

And that's only about half of my building's supply right now. We kind of over-bought this year, due to last year's debacle when we were the last building in our whole company to have ANY ice melt left at one point.

Having said that, business is obviously way friggin' busy right now. Getting tired of it. If I hear "well, things are going to change, we're working on it" one more time.....gonna need Hammer's shovel.
You can have the shovel after I am done. My MA is having her baby as we speak (hoping all goes smoothly!) leaving 2 inexperienced people on tomorrow, no movement on a new NP. Soooooooo done. Covering starting tomorrow for the next week. OUr lovely front office mgr did not freeze my schedule so it is packed full of people and now we are due for more snow. Shovels make a mess.

Hope all the bars stay open. More snow due in and they were interviewing visitors to city saying they couldn't find anything open!

She will care because you did something.

Ice Melt seems like a pre-school name for "salt".

Except ice melt is usually not sodium chloride which most people think of when they say salt. It is usually calcium chloride or a mix of both. Calcium chloride works down to a little lower temp than sodium chloride, while both are chemically "salts." One would think an engineer from Houghton would know these things....

But you just made my point...they're both "salts" I don't care if it isn't sodium chloride, as long as it is a salt, I'd call it salt.

But it then confuses people who only know the stuff in the shaker as salt. You know, the same people who think "organic" means something other than a molecule containing a carbon atom.

If stupid people are confused, that really doesn't bother me. :p

It is not my problem if people choose to not pay attention in high school chemistry.

Thank you! He's traveling with ~15-20 others so you probably don't want to go down that road. ;)

Ah, well, OK. Never mind then! :) Just let him know of the impending storm and the one coming on Tuesday night into Wednesday. He could potentially be stuck here for a bit.

I had one of the easiest commutes in this morning than I've had in a couple of weeks. It may have just been an issue with timing. No meetings today. Going to see if I can take care of a few things and leave a little early. Had my review yesterday. Wasn't one of my better ones. Wasn't bad, just had a few instances this year where things kind of slipped and I got called on it. Not fighting it, I'm owning it and moving on. This is going to be a crazy busy year.
