Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #173: (Insert Title)

This is the status update from the US Postal Service on my Beanpot tickets:

February 2, 2015 , 10:13 am Out for Delivery MEDFORD, MA 02155
February 2, 2015 , 10:03 am Sorting Complete MEDFORD, MA 02155
February 2, 2015 , 8:12 am Arrived at Unit MEDFORD, MA 02155
January 31, 2015 , 5:02 am Departed USPS Facility BOSTON, MA 02205
January 28, 2015 , 7:55 pm Arrived at USPS Facility . BOSTON, MA 02205

So on the 28th, they were mailed from Agganis Arena, went from there, in Boston, to the USPS facility right by South Station (I'm assuming). The tickets, which were sent Certified Mail, did not leave there till three days later. On a Saturday. At 5:02AM. It arrived at the Medford post office on Monday. Not sure why it did not arrive later on the 31st as it is only 6 miles or so and there was no snow here that day. It arrived in the morning, was sorted, the "out for delivery" which never happened because of the weather (which I totally understand). It's out for delivery again today but no status update. I want to know why an envelope that was sent Certified Mail sat in the USPS facility for two full days. That's ludicrous. And I actually like the USPS.

My sister had mailed a job application out late last year. Was only supposed to go 30 miles or so, but the USPS told her that it would get there in 2 days. That was fine, the deadline wasn't for 3 or something.

What happened? It apparently missed the deadline, AND went from here to Syracuse, then back up to our area.

Dr appt in an hour to get the stitches removed and hopefully be told that I can't go back to work yet!

My wife ordered some things from Amazon that were for her bridesmaids gifts last summer. They were shipped USPS, and apparently they were shipped from Delaware, or maybe it was Maryland, regardless, somewhere out east. She was tracking the packages and they went from the east coast to Wisconsin, to CALIFORNIA, to St. Louis to Minneapolis, then to our local post office. Seriously ****ed up.

I think the problem is that Minnesota has broken off diplomatic relations with Wisconsin and everything must go via a third party. ;)

Aaaaaand there is apparently a shooting at my grocery store (SLP Byerly's, for locals). Right across the street from where I used to work. Also there are reports of another one at 169 and 62. Not known if they are related...

Weeeeeeeee. I think I'll stay inside for a bit.

I don't think of Byerly's when I hear that there's a gocery store shooting. Aldi's yes, Byerly's not so much.

You might want to look at a map for the best use of city streets. Between the little bit of snow and the police action that's likely going on there still, you'd do well to avoid the intersection.

So I make it to the a Garden with relative ease, go to the area where they have team Will Call. Naturally my ticket was not there. The ticket manager was. I told him my account manager emailed me this morning that she was having you reprint it. His eyes go all buggy. He totally forgot. Great. He calls the Garden box office to tell them to reprint so I have to go all the way down to regular Will Call to pick it up. But it's only tonight's ticket. Who knows when the actual tickets will show up.

Well, as the Frozen Four draws nearer, I see that the Red Sox will be out of town for the duration. Mookie gonna have a golf course ready for me to play?

We're planning on seeing some historical sites and doing brewery tours in our frozen 4 downtime. Do we have a tailgating lot locked down yet?

320ville received its first significant snowfall in quite some time today. 3 inches or so. Good thing I stocked up on tp, milk and bread. ;)

Fwiw. I have never been to Boston. I have travelled extensively through the east coast but never MA.

HHT!!!! OT wins in the Beanpot will be the death of me. Another storm predicted for next Monday. Not sure if they'll get the game in.

So my wife lost her uncle today to *ing cancer today.

What's amazing is he's the youngest of 9 and the first sibling (or in-law to pass); especially considering the age ranges, from mid-80s down to just over 60, and some of them have had significant health issues to overcome.

:( F Cancer.

Snowed today, nothing much. Enough to create some icy roads. Saw one car almost biff it on an on-ramp, but he recovered. Another driver happened to wrap a fence post around his windshield just outside my building, though. Went down the embankment off the highway. Very little damage, which I thought was quite surprising. The windshield didn't even crack. Everyone was ok, thank goodness.

So, stitches are out, all going well for my healing. And I didn't technically get clearance to go back to work, so I get to watch a couple more SLU games this weekend!

Going snowmobiling with my old man in the Adirondacks tomorrow. Planning for about 80 miles, +/- 10.

My condolences. :(
