I'm really not happy right now. After the trouble I had getting here...this is the crap I'm seeing??? JFC.

State Street is not that far away. Worse case, you can rent a car and drive to Milwaukee. I think the Ads are in town.

Got home from work just in time to miss the Gopher game. From the sounds of it, that's actually a good thing.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #173: (Insert Title)

I wish there was a single team I cheered for that wasn't a complete pile of crap. I anticipate the Twins blowing, but the Gophers and the Wild sucking the tailpipe are making it hard to cope with this bull**** weather.

But on a good note, I'm into the 1700's in the family tree.

That's always fun. Here and there my aunt (father's oldest sister) updates us with findings. Last I heard she has gotten back to the 1400's on their father's side. Seems the Swedish portion of me comes from Östhammar.

We had a number of high powered religious types, including a bishop in Sweden. Also someone who was a real skank and tried to sell an already used burial plot :p.

My uncle has previously done a lot of my paternal family's ancestry. He was able to trace all the way back to the Mayflower, if not farther than that. And this guy was one of the signers of the Mayflower compact, and IIRC, was a 14th or 15th generation relative (probably 18th cousin-in-laws by marriage thrice removed or something silly :p)

72 hours until my surgery.

Nothing too exciting from my Swedish ancestors, they fought in some wars but weren't generals or anything. My favorite bit of information she has found is concerning the Scottish heritage. (father's mother) Her father (my great-grandfather) had supposedly made the move from Glasgow to Brisbane due to allergy/health complications. Turns out, he was a terrible jewel thief and was given options upon being caught. She found this out in 1985, a bit too late as I was named after him in 1983. :D

Almost forgot...one of my ancestors was indeed involved with Powers whiskey. I do get a funny look from time to time when I get ID'd buying a bottle of that. :D

I have a very distant ancestor who owned most of what is now Quebec, but gambled and drank it away.

As I understand it, my aunt has traced my grandfather's line back to about 1501 or so in Germany. My great-grandfather and his brother were both born in 1901. They are not twins. I found that one interesting...
