Good Morning Lodge.

Long day, fun night. So glad the rain ended and we were able to watch the ball game. AT&T Park is really nice. Going to sleep now, tomorrow I fly to Denver. Going to game 5. Hopefully I can make it for opening face off.

Cheer loud for the Avs, Opposite Girl! ;)

Jr and I are heading to the BigBlue homestead this afternoon to scout for turkeys - the feathered kind. Might shoot the shotgun at some paper targets too.

Morning, Lodj.

There's not enough advice thrown at people getting married :p so here's some more:

Re: Wedding play-lists. Esp. "do not play" lists -- You can plan all you want. And you can make it as clear as you want with the DJ. But if someone in your family really wants to hear a song, and they're feeling good because they're at their son's/nephew's/cousin's/granddaughter's wedding, they're gonna bribe that bleeping DJ until he plays it. You and your new spouse will hear the forbidden song, and you'll stroll over to the DJ to ask him why he's endangering his paycheck, and he'll look nervously at you and say, "You're supposed to talk to him." And there your own father will be, smiling wide and flashing cash. It happens, I'm telling you!

When I was in Canada the hotel was full of crazy hockey teams. In NC it's crazy kid dance/cheerleading competition girls. Dance/cheer moms are insane.

the feathered kind.

Thanks for clarifying. I was worried that you would take him out before the big day and all. Come to think of it......he is getting married. Put him out of his misery now! ;)

Regarding the shooting thingamajig in Alex. I spoke to the hotel and hospitality person yesterday. Big crowds. Yikes! I'm glad I will be out of town while a bunch of minimecityslickers with shotguns arrive for the weekend. If you need a room act now and email me if that doesn't work. Or try the suburbs of Osakis, Glenwood and such. :)

That weekend I will attending a wedding in a small town in nw MN. The groom is registered at the local hardware store. :)

Georgia Satellites, Billy Idol and the Village People. You. Are. Welcome. ;)

I'm not keeping my hands to myself, it won't be a white wedding (for obvious reasons), and I'm not in the Navy. :p

About the only thing other than AC/DC that will be on the ban list, is twang (except for a carefully chosen song or two; and one is older country: Randy Travis "Forever And Ever").

Taking delivery of my new car this afternoon. A day anyone who knows me never thought would happen. Hah.

I bought a new car this morning... 2014 Subaru XV Crosstek. I pick it up Monday.
Hey, what a coincidence, I got the same thing just last month, Premium level (it's the base, but they don't want to call it that) with convenience package 1 and a moon roof. I hope you enjoy it, I'm liking mine so far. It was real solid in the snow storm we had that first week I had it.

Speaking of cars, I have to say I still love my 2012 Fusion. Compared to my old 2001 Jimmy, which needed brand new brakes every 6-8 months for the last two years I owned it, and once threw the Check Engine light literally two minutes out of a dealership maintenance parking lot (despite having less than 100,000 miles for all but the last few months before I traded it). I guess we'll see what happens when the Ford gets above 75,000, but I commute at least 40-50 miles each workday, so less than 2 years in the Fusion already has 28,000 miles on the clock, and so far it's only required an oil change and tire rotation twice a year.
