Snow. Heavy snow (as in weight). Just a couple inches at my place, but since it was raining earlier, the roads are ice. Fun times.

Mankato State football coach / temporarily laid off because his work cell phone had photos of his kids in the bath / a preposterous, modern, zero-tolerance, because-protect-the-children! DA prosecuted him for child porn / everybody who saw the photos said, "It's his kids in the bath, what the hell is wrong with you?" / got his job back after lengthy, embarrassing court cases / etc. That situation has actually just gotten a little weirder. Good times.

And to make it worse, his football team doesn't want him back.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #173: (Insert Title)

The news I've been simultaneously dreading and hoping for came in at 5 PM today - a second major customer has inked a contract to get their own instance of ServiceNow. This time it's a bank, thus I anticipate even more stringent requirements. I'm also just going to go ahead and assume that sales promised them we'd launch in October, because promising unreasonable project timelines is part of sales. *sigh*

Technically, I'm not supposed to be the lead on this one, but I suspect I'm going to get pulled in anyway simply because I've been with the company and worked with the software longer than the other BAs and my boss.

 all our parents would be jailed. How many Xmas cards had the kid in the bubble bath when I was little?

Hoffner was a victim, and there's no question about it. I feel for him and his family.

However, I still I fully support our players here. Hoffner has been disrespectful to his players, and created a negative attitude inside the Locker room. Keen steps in, is a complete players coach, and is well liked by most. Keen talks with each recruit, where Hoffner was very reduced in a recruiting roll, and leaned heavily on Keen with the current players.

There aren't winners in this situation, an it sucks. Why Hoffner came back is fairly baffling. I get wanting to stick it to MSU, but he knew the attitude his players had towards him. (Or was just absolutely moronicly oblivious.)

Three kids in my class were football players yesterday when Hoffner announced he'd be returning. On stood up and said **** this I'm done. Another stated, what a ****ing as shole.

Another professor let all football players out of class due to the announcement. (This I don't quite understand)

To me, it wasn't surprising to see today's events unfold.

Funny as well, Hoffner talked about his gratitude and LOYALTY when taking the Minot State job....

Yeah...Bump was talking about it today. What a cluster****.

*RTFAs*

Wow. If I were Hoffner, I would have stayed gainfully employed at Minot and not looked back. You know Mankato is going to be watching like a hawk for the first legitimate reason to wash their hands of that three-ring circus.

On the other hand...dude, he was stuck in Minot. There's a reason the USAF keeps nuclear bombs there. If they blow up, nobody outside the base is going to die. Ever. Because it's Minot.

Yeah, to have all of that mess going on and then even make the playoffs, even ranked number one in the country going into the playoffs was quite a feat for Keen to pull off. And then just to half Hoffner come back in to steal his thunder, I can't see Keen wanting to stay there long. Somebody else higher up on the food chain would be more than happy to have Keen coaching there.

Yep.

Keen has done/is doing an excellent job here in Mankato. He's well recievee by boosters, community members, and engages with our student body. We are proud to have him as our coach because of what he stands for, and his family environment he gives to our football team, who are also many of our friends.

Keen says he loves coaching here, and that I truly believe. It'll be a **** shame if he has to go, which may be just a matter of time with Hoffner locked in until 2018.

Another thing that angers me is the response I've seen from some of the public. Calling out players, using derogatory language, and calling them an embarrassment. 18-23 year old kids are letting their voice be heard for the first time throughout this situation. Standing up for a guy they see as part of their family. Should players be allowed to control who the coach is? No. Additionally, this is a different and unique situation unlike any other. This will affect recruiting as well; who wants to come play for a guy whose team wouldn't practice for him?

Good Morning Lodge.

Jr shot trap in near white-out conditions last night. Scores were not very good in those conditions. Such a bizarre storm with a sharp line between rain/snow running right through the metro. Drove most of the way to the gun club through rain, started hitting snow about a half mile before the club and it was snowing hard at the club the whole time we were there. Then kind of reversed that drive except the return route was more through the snow.

More than a foot here. Got a ruler out, and it is completely submerged with about an inch extra snow above it. I took the plow off and put it away already, so it was fun getting my fiance's car out of the driveway.

I didn't expect to come home to this BS.

We didn't even get a trace of snow down in Farmington, but the rain did freeze to the roads overnight.
