Morning. Michigan DOT doesn't believe in snowplows, apparently. 94 out to the airport sucked. Then security was a zoo, thank god I was able to skip check in line, and most of security line.

Headed back to NOLA.

Good morning. Rumor of sun here in England....sounds like a ruse to me. :)
Stonehenge, Bath (I know easy joke here time), & Windsor today.

Jealous. Doing any touring of Scotland? If so, then ridiculously jealous.

Good Morning Lodge.

Thought about borrowing a co-worker's unit heater for under my desk this AM. I'm not usually the cold one in the office but I'm against the outside wall and there is cold air pooled under my desk today.

It is unusually cold at my desk this morning too, and I'm not by the outside wall. The building must still be warming up after the holiday shutdown, when they turn the heat down to 50 degrees.

The best part about coming back from Holiday break? Everyone else was on break too, so I don't have a huge pile of emails to go through after being away for 14 days. :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

Good morning, Lodj.

My squirt team had an impressive game on Sunday. About as impressive as a 9-1 loss can be. :o We had 8 skaters show up. Eight! But everybody stepped up. We kept it a close game until the 3rd, then we just ran out of gas. For the compassionate part of your brain, it's hard to look at one of your red-faced, wheezing kids and tell them, sorry, you can't come off yet. But the coach part -- the "teach them they can do hard things" part -- was proud.

I also got to be "life lesson coach guy" afterwards in the locker room -- kids were starting to rag on the other team for celebrating too much after each of their goals in the 3rd. So they got the "You know what, you can't control how other people are going to react; let them react however they want; we're not going to worry about that" speech.

Then I took my halo off and went back to my normal self. :D

Stay warm, everybody.

I want to win games. To be honest, if the coach was sick I'd hope he'd come in with one of those masks any time not being the bench.

Howdy Lodge. Greetings from Salt Lake City. Made it out of Dodge. Looks like I'm missing a helluva storm. Not going to worry now about whether I can get home.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

All the Christmas stuff is down and put away except for the outdoor lights, which I'll get over the weekend.

Bring on spring!

M-NOT has been terrible so far this winter. I think they must be operating a skeleton crew with no overtime. Great time of the year to cut the road budget , but I'm sure they'll be back to putting up orange barrels in the spring and wasting money on unnecessary construction.
