Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

Looks like I'll have a Sconnie for a son-in-law... he gave her the ring yesterday. Also looks like I'll have to GO to Sconnie for the wedding!

Tell me this is all a dream...

Actually, I'm quite happy for them both. They're both good kids and seem to know what they want from life.

:proudpapathingygoeshere:

Congrats!!

Wait, doesn't the wedding usually happen where the bride and her family are from???

Congrats though!

Usually. But in these modern times, it tends to be wherever the most people can attend, for convenience sake.

Question for Brent/bbdl/MNS/beer drinkers of the Midwest. Just picked up 6'ers of LH milk stout nitro, Breck vanilla porter (have had it before), and singles of Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Stout and Bells expedition. I also have 2 Old Engine Oil's in my fridge from my last beer run. Which shall be cracked first this evening?

Start with the bourbon barrel. After that "hits" you, you may want to dial back with the nitro. :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

Good evening Lodge.

Spent the day playing outside with the little g's. With all the nasty weather we have had lately it was nice to be outside for a change.

Now I'm kicking back watching some hockey while enjoying Makers Mark 46. Might have to fire up a cigar in a bit..............

The inlaws are coming over tomorrow and spending the night. I'm so excited I will have a hard time getting any sleep tonight............

Jealous.

I haven't fired up a cigar in a very long time. I have a humidor and at one point collecting cigars was something I was into. Not so much anymore. I think a Cohiba will do the trick in a bit. The issue with lighting up a stogie is that I will smoke it in the garage. By no means will I start and finish it but a few tokes will suffice. Most of it will be wasted.............:(.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

My newsfeed is full of people writing about Michigan's first win at the Kohl Center since 1999, or something. I don't get it. The hockey was there last weekend and the results were sad. Also, the last time we won there was 2006.

Could it be that there are bouncyball fans on my Facebook? Are there bouncyball fans? And why would anyone watch that instead of hockey day in Canada (or Minnesota for those of you that are so inclined)?

HHT.
Condolences to Scarlet and mookie. BU is a shadow of their former selves.

Saw a first tonight- review to call a penalty in the middle of the game. Thought that wan't allowed. Supposedly tthey decided to call the penalty altho no one's arm was up and they all mulled around for some time before watching the video and then calling a penalty.

The refs/linesmen were awful. Lil took one look at who the zebras were at the beginning of the game and groaned. Hersey (pronounced Her-SEE). First thing out of his mouth- Her-no see. Second Herr-blind. They were awful. Couldn't figure out offsides all night. Either they were off and they missed it or they called it off and it wasn't close..

SCSU scores with about 2:00 remaining, it would have tied the game, but the refs didn't review the play to see that the puck did in fact cross the line.

The Huskies played like dung, didn't really deserve a win, IMO, but that's still complete and utter BS on the part of the refs.

A seat at the *HT. Totally not used to this. :(

They weren't much better at Lawler... Gravelesse and Benedetto were horrible. Not that it cost us the game, but it certainly didn't help. And I thought ECAC refs were bad.
