Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

It would be mandatory for people to get em installed and well, after the first week of people having the missile system. And if you're not smart enough to get the system installed and you **** me off, too flipping bad, you're getting a ding in your car. :p

I'm actually in favor of Twisted Metal style road rage. You should be allowed to bomb the **** out of the idiot driver in front/back of you.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

As for that new law, I've never seen or heard of it enforced. It's business as usual.

As for that blindness, you can "flip" your rearview mirror you know. Cuts the glare. ;)
Neither have I, and I still creep into intersection like always did, but that law not being obeyed/enforced at the 100/Excelsior/Wooddale/Park Center Blvd cluster**** of an intersection (specifically people going from EB on Excelsior to the on ramp light for NB 100 blocking people facing south on PC wanting to turn east on Excelsior) is a big pet peeve of mine. I've waited 3 complete cycles as the front car from PC before I was able to move...and those are long cycles. The only time I've ever seem someone pulled over because of not following the law...I was drunk in the backseat of the offender (NB 100 off ramp to EB Excelsior there is a no turn on red sign...she turned on red, cutting off a cop. She was not drinking).

And, yes, I am aware, and do indeed, flip my mirror...but, when the ***hole comes up on you quickly or merges right behind you, you don't necessarily have the time to prevent it. It also applies to side view mirrors...which don't flip, so you have to displace them. ;)

Good ....erm...morning. The shower has no hot water. yippee. The good news is the valve has been messed up and the plumber was already scheduled to come this evening.

Good morning Lodge. Here at Logan Airport, headed to Las Vegas for work for the weekend. Will be at the Continental Cup of Curling. Should be interesting!

Good morning.
I was ~15 degrees when I went to bed & now it's currently 34. By the time I leave this afternoon it will be nearing single digits.

Mother Nature is manic. :D

You could be in New York State, where it is commonplace to use the heat and the A/C in the same day.

Staten Island Tunnel? Do you mean the subway tunnel to Brooklyn that gets proposed every ten years and laughed at?
I really have no idea. When I googled it, the only thing that came up were articles about this proposed tunnel that you mention. I am guessing that something was lost in the translation, since I'm getting this information 2nd hand, not directly from the customer. We have a meeting today, where I should be able to get details.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

Actually, you can't do that as of two years ago. You are not allowed to enter the intersection unless you can make it safely through on green or yellow. It was called the left turn law. I'm not sure at how strictly it's enforced though...

That law is BS. When I drove truck, there were lights that I would have had to wait for HOURS at if I followed that law. SOP is the truck and the front of the line creeps into the intersection on green, and when the light hits yellow, GO. One truck gets through that particular light per cycle, every time.

Mornin' ya'll. Chilly breeze here, snow is blowing around, and my 15 minute walk to class wasn't too bad, because unlike 98 percent of people doing the same, I was prepared for it.:p

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

Was wondering why there were cops everywhere when I got home yesterday. Turns out some numbnuts in my subdivision barricaded himself in his house and said he had a bomb after they tried to serve him court papers.

Welp, looks like I'm moving again.

HOLY SCHNIKEY I looked that up and you're right. As a quick side note, this doesn't explain why people weren't pulling out into the intersection 15 years ago when I moved here. :D But sure enough, 2 years ago they added that law, with the intent of ending intersection gridlock. Now, just to prove how sharp lawmakers are, there's an exception that says you CAN pull out if you can make it all the way through. I think this means don't pull out into the intersection if doofuses going the other way have already gridlocked the intersection. But it sure doesn't mean sit back and wait for the light to change and then if there's no traffic have that one first car go through. (Or maybe it does. WHO FLIPPIN' KNOWS!)

Good morning.

I'm playing the national anthem on my sax at a squirt outdoor tournament tonight. Hope my pads don't freeze shut!

So I got some clarification. It is a tunnel project on Staten Island, it just isn't for a subway or cars or anything like that, just some utility work that is being done.
