Someone has shot about 10 people at the Washington Navy Yard (about a mile from me). That explains all the sirens which I have been hearing.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #170: Fair Weather

A woman in my office, the same one that I mentioned inthe Grinding Gears thread, wants access to view my Outlook calendar. She sent a request for it. I'm not sure if A) I should allow it, B) I should disallow it, or C) I should allow it only to populate it with fake blocks of available time listed as "phone porn viewing in the bathroom" or have my Thursday PTO time show as "Orgy Recovery" or "Kitten Skinning" all before giving her access. It's quite the conundrum.

I would go with option (C), but you'll probably get fired because nobody has a sense of humor anymore.

Is she your manager? Or is she responsible for planning meetings for you? Otherwise, no. Our admins have access to the big guys' schedules, that's it. And Outlook allows you to se if a person's time is booked so what could she possibly need access to your calendar for?

She's not my manager, nor is she my assistant. She's my peer, though she's sort of doing quasi-PM work for the project we're working. Still, in 7 years on this job I've never had a PM request my calendar. My boss doesn't even have my calendar.

As long as she can see which times you're available I think its reasonable. She doesn't need details. We can see everyone's calendar in the form of blocks available and blocks unavailable just for being able to schedule meetings more efficiently.

Storms just rolled through Charleston. Knocked out TV and power flickered a bunch. Looks to be done now.

Pb's cousin (by marriage) manages this hotel and he gave me a free upgrade to a suite! Tomorrow night 3 of us are going out for some seafood and beers.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #170: Fair Weather

My sister-in-law sent out a group text asking me and four others to buy stuff for my niece's fundraiser. Apparently the other four plus my sister-in-law don't seem to understand that when you reply on a group text everyone gets the text. My phone has been buzzing for the last 30 minutes. It's driving me nuts.

I did. While I was reading your texts, I got 14 more as part of the conversation.
