Not first day of school ever. I've seen those but I've also seen middle school, high school, even some college.

Starting school before Labor Day is nothing short of UnAmerican, and it is just simply wrong.

This isn't new. I have a picture of my mother on the first day of school, and that must have been in the mid-1920's.

I know it's not a new thing to do. I just feel that this year way more of these photos have been posted on Facebook than I recall in previous years.

My mother definitely didn't post in on Facebook :D, but she or my grandmother probably gave copies to everyone in the family which was the equivalent. The one that I have belonged to my mother's aunt who was childless. My mother's and my grandparents' photo albums "disappeared" along with most of their personal property in Hamburg or Bremen when my grandparents were escaping from Germany in 1939.

Another day from hell for me at work. Meeting of the minds today. Heads are going to roll tomorrow.

Heads rolling is what started the mess my work is in. They let go two people, then a couple days later, a couple more put in their two weeks' notice (unrelated to the fired people instances; they had better jobs/school lined up). Then the head of our building got a promotion to HQ, and we are now supplying a new branch in NoDak.

All OT Friday tomorrow. That's with only 8 hours holiday pay this week. Yeah.

I think I'm just gonna curl up and watch football and movies all weekend.

YAWN Good morning Lodge. Kid started a skating clinic that started at 6:30 this morning, had to drive him to the rink. Mrs gets to pick him up and take him to school.

Huh. Just learned there was a murder suicide across the street from my office yesterday about a half hour after I left for the day. :eek:
