Gotta love it when the drug test guy pays a visit to your boat. And you need to chug a couple bottles of water in order to give a sample. Ugh. Oh well, yet another drug test down.

my former kickball captain (whose team I'm running) is starting to turn mercurial... this is going to be so much not fun tonight.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #170: Fair Weather

I'm so bored right now. I'm sitting at my computer, waiting for a test-aiding application to convert some 20,000 ISO formatted text messages into XML-tagged versions of those same messages so I can then inject them into an MQ queue to see how fast the application we're building can perform its retrieval process from the queue. I might be here for another couple hours at the rate this testing aide app is going. I think I'm inadvertently stress testing my testing aides.

Good evening Lodge.

My back is messed up. Not sure what I did to it but it started acting up Monday and has gotten worse since. I could barely get out of my chair at the dinner table.............

The lower back, in between the shoulder blades, or more of in the mid-back area? And is it just to one side, right in the middle, or on both sides?

This has been an amazing stretch of weather.....and it sounds great for da cabin this weekend. :)

I'm still at the office. This is not going as planned.

Lower back? Walk it off. Literally, just walk. It will stretch out. Trust me on this one.

You can try that, but you might be regretting it in about twenty years when you can't stand up correctly because you've compensated for something for so long? Now, if you had said Yoga, then you might be getting somewhere with stretching out gmann's issues hoven.

My dad walked off back pain years ago and now he has a really bad knee to thank for it.

Lower left. Just above the azz.

Get new shoes.

Yes, I'm being serious...I had the same thing. Could barely get out of bed in the morning. But then I bought something better than those $16 shoes from Target.

Puppy Update! ;)

We have figured out how to get Beau to sleep through the night 9:30-4:30, without crying and waking us up! We take him for a walk/run between 8 and 8:30, to get him really tired out, then keep him up and about until 9:30. Put him in the kennel, with his toys and rawhides, turn on the radio and sit by him until he falls asleep (takes like 2 minutes), then put the blanket over the kennel. Lastly, we put a dirty shirt that one of us wore next to his kennel, so he can still smell us when he wakes up. We've done this the last 2 nights and he's slept the whole night through.

In other more frustrating puppy news....he loves going outside, obviously. I have been working from home in the afternoons so he doesn't have to spend 9 hours straight in the kennel. Well, if I'm working, I can be outside all afternoon playing with Beau, so he has to stay inside with me. (we aren't ready to leave him outside by himself, and he isn't used to being on a chain yet) He has figured out that if he pees on the carpet, he gets punished, and sent outside. I'm pretty sure he is now peeing on the carpet just so we put him outside. My reasoning: he'll pee right after he comes in from peeing, minutes after he'd just gone, I scold him, and take him outside. The whole time his tail is wagging, and he gets outside and jumps around, and wants to play, even though I keep telling him that he's a bad boy, in an angry voice. He's way too smart for his own good.... Also, I know he knows he should go outside to potty, since he went to the door yesterday, and sat and waited to go out when he had to poop.
