Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #170: Fair Weather

We only went to see the good sports. Hockey and Football. (and when I was in high school we were really **** good in both, state tourney in both sports 3 out of 4 years in high school) We went to a state championship boys basketball game once, since we were good at that too, and it sucked. Only did that once. :p
Students would always be at football, boy's basketball (we were pretty decent at that), and boy's hockey games when I was at BSM. But, when the section and state tournaments rolled around for soccer, we'd go support our friends on the teams. Our football coaches even encouraged us to go, even though they just spent the last 2 and a half months pointing to the soccer fields yelling at us, "IF YOU DON'T LIKE CONTACT...THOSE ARE YOUR FIELDS!!"

Gotta support the team /Puddy

I'm pretty sure we didn't even have a soccer team.

Jr knows girls on the team and he played soccer so he has an appreciation of the game, even if it's not his favorite. And BSM has Ms. Soccer Kelly Paneck who is also hockey team captain and has committed to the undefeated Gopher Women's hockey team. Add in he gets a day off school and it's a no-brainer.

When we'd get days off of school for reasons like that, we'd go ride 4-wheeler all day, or go snowmobiling. :p

They only get the time off if they get on the bus to the dome. Otherwise they need to stay in the school for supervised study.

Ya just don't go to school in the first place!

We also never had busses going to any of the games, no matter the sport. We'd all just pile in the cars and drive up.

bbdl - I'm going to check with the USOC about dogs. I think that should be OK but would rather clear with them first.

All my stuff arrived!! Yay!! Deep breath, still plenty of opportunity for screw ups.

Oh, les - got to meet Coach Bazin at the airport yesterday. Spoke with him for a while. Good conversation. Nice guy. I need to send him some stuff.

Ok, I've been away for a while. What the hell happened to the board? No images anywhere? Youtube disabled? 2,300-post threads?

Naughty pictures (in the hot chicks thread) was the cause of the no more pics/vids. Probably also the cause of no more post limits on threads. Happened a couple weeks ago.

In my day they just gave us the day off of school. We'd go to the game, then go hangout for the rest of the day.

Also, bbdl, if you have perfect attendance you get to skip a final. So, that's why people would show up for school in the first place.
Lazy fix.
According to board it was an automatic fix by Google AdSense. They didn't disable anything themselves. I'm not sure why they haven't fixed it yet.

Evening, Lodg.

At the end of Squirt practice today, when the kids had each gotten a couple of shoot-out tries, we coaches got a shot. The first five guys got stuffed, and the kids were really whooping it up for their goalie. Then guess who lit the lamp? THAT'S RIGHT, BABY! Me, easily the slowest and most stone-handed person on the whole ice, of any age. It was even on the backhand. Oh it was beautiful!

:D

I believe it was the 2004 Basketball game..were you still in school then? Mankato West was down 15-1 after the first quarter and we ended up coming back and winning the title against Red Wing..I was there!

That was after I graduated. I don't remember the years, sometime during high school, but we lost to Minneapolis Henry in the title game the one I was at. Red Wing was down by about 30 at half, and came back so that they had the ball, down 1 with time expiring and missed the shot to win the title.
