At the end of Squirt practice today, when the kids had each gotten a couple of shoot-out tries, we coaches got a shot. The first five guys got stuffed, and the kids were really whooping it up for their goalie. Then guess who lit the lamp? THAT'S RIGHT, BABY! Me, easily the slowest and most stone-handed person on the whole ice, of any age. It was even on the backhand. Oh it was beautiful!

This makes me smile. I always try tricky moves on our goaltenders when we do shootouts. And you're **** right I celebrate. The kids need to know it's all about the love of game; the kids love that.

Jr. went out with the car for the first time last night. He and a buddy met at church and went to get a quick dinner then head to the high school football playoff game (their team won 56-7). DQ after then back to the buddy's house for a bit. No incidents to report. {whew}

BSM is 4A. They beat Breck, the higher priced private school. Now they face De LaSalle who beat them in regular season.

But first they get to take a bus to the dome this morning to see the girls play in State soccer semi-finals (girls are defending State 1A champs).

Good morning Lodge and Happy Monday. On board my flight to NYC to start leg one of the USOC's Road to Sochi Fan Tour. Nervous as hell. I have fingers and toes crossed that all the apparel I ordered shows up this morning. It is going to be a long day.

Happy that the Sox won but now am concerned that I am heading out of town. Both Sox victories happened when I was home. Now I'm on the road for the rest of the Series. It will all be my fault!!!

Speaking of your tour. We're thinking of stopping by next Saturday, and were wondering if it was a pet-friendly situation. Its in a parking lot, right? So I am thinking it might be ok, but I don't want to bring Beau if it would be frowned upon by the people there. He's pretty good with people, and on a leash, in fact, he loves meeting new people.

The football team doesn't HAVE to go to the dome. None of the kids HAVE to go, but they can. Jr went last year and had a blast, I'm sure he'll have fun again this year. I understand you hate soccer but no one is asking you to go and no one is asking Jr to have to listen to **** kicker music either. :p

Right. The other coaches were trying crazy moves. Good times.

So they were bringing the A-game, and the goalie couldn't handle the change up? My college roommate is the goalie for my former men's league team would stand on his head during a game, keeping us in it to the very end as we'd spend some 35 minutes of a 51-minute run-time game in our defensive zone. We'd go to a pick-up game, a bunch of scrubs playing that made me look good, pucks barely leaving their sticks when they pass it sometimes, and my buddy would get lit up like the Fourth of July. I'd laugh at him, ask him what was going on, and he'd tell me that he just couldn't adjust to the slow shots after facing the fast pace of our men's league games. :)

I'll need to catch some video highlights when I get home. I've been hearing a lot of vague things about the ending to this game.

Are they playing Mankato West?

West moved to AAAAA for football when the new big schools AAAAAA was formed a couple years ago.

Finally a week where I don't have too many obligations.

The BSM girls did beat Kato West today. Now face natural rivals Blake for title. So Jr will get another day mostly off school.

We only went to see the good sports. Hockey and Football. (and when I was in high school we were really **** good in both, state tourney in both sports 3 out of 4 years in high school) We went to a state championship boys basketball game once, since we were good at that too, and it sucked. Only did that once. :p
