Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #170: Fair Weather
Given Scarlet's silence on the subject, I'm guessing that we're not going out for drinks with Sarah Hughes.
That's 'cause she's bringing bigwigs to town, and you're all like, "Hell, we can drink at the farm and shoot of fireworks and sh*t! Yee-haaa!"
While I would love to see you all, and I hope you can come to the event at the MOA, I am with folks from work. In fact, we had a run of show meeting today and we were talking about dinner Saturday night and I told them I would ask my friends who live in the area for restaurant recommendations. Any good ones??
Scarlet. Baby. How are you? I assume you're staying near the MOA. If you're stuck eating at the mall and need something nice, the Napa Valley Grille is good. Otherwise it's mall stuff.
If you can get out, though, there are a couple of good options just 15 minutes away in South Minneapolis:
1)
Broder's Pasta Bar -- Casual Pasta Bar
At the corner of 50th Street and Penn Ave, there is Broder's Pasta Bar. Great, casual, fresh. Pasta, salads, dessserts.
2)
Terzo -- Nice Italian Wine Bar
Right across the street at 50th and Penn the same family runs Terzo Wine Bar. Small plates or full menu, excellent Italian, huge wine list.
Both places are popular, so you might have a wait. Also, this is Minnesota, so they close at 9:30. On weekends they go crazy and stay open until 10:00.
3)
Cafe Maude -- High-end American Bistro
Nearby at 54th and Penn is Cafe Maude. Usually you need reservations. Great bistro food -- steak and fries, lobster mac 'n cheese, roasted fall vegetables; that kind of place.
And if you can't get away, you can't get away. Good luck with the gig!
