Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #170: Fair Weather

Only the UW athletic department would be stupid enough to think that actual hockey fans would accept taking down NC banners and replacing them with a concourse mural.

What? Our Athletic Dept has had an intelligence-ectomy and even they wouldn't do that.

I see the paint thinner supply is still aplenty in Madison.

Long and dreary day here. Excited for practice with the Squirts tonight to get away from my workload for a bit. Two exams tomorrow, but today has thankfully been productive.

slow night here in the lodge

bbdl, I forgot to mention I went to Florida Georgia Line on October 4th here in Mankato. It was a fantastic show; I mean it wasn't a Church concert, but it was up there. Also have tickets to Justin Moore, Randy Houser, and Josh Thompson here in November.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #170: Fair Weather

Gearing up for a rough 4 days at work. Offsite co-worker has those days off, a new-hire is no longer with us (don't know details, I'm guessing he was let go, due to what I know about him). Still working major OT. It might take a month or three, but it'll be interesting to see how the new BigBoss treats things. Hopefully he understands that hiring more headcount + less/no OT < keeping staff as is +OT as to costs.

It depends somewhat on the costs of fringe benefits.

Someone didn't like your angst over your football program?

Sleep is being elusive tonight.
Not really sure what the poster's problem was. Actually it was to the post where I was responding to you about West Alabama beating Valdosta Thursday night, which opened the door to Mankato getting to be ranked Number One in the polls, for all of that's worth.
He doesnt own **** and I'd like to see you sit my *** down. Big internet P U $ $ Y!
Rep in question.

I'm guessing you did deserve it, just based on it being in the D2 Football thread....
Hey Dingus! in case you hadn't noticed, I've been rather quiet lately about it. I haven't even mentioned football in any of the other GLIAC school threads over in the D1 Forum. I didn't even make some witty commit about how Ohio Dominican owes Michigan Tech an apology after manhandling GVSU and GVSU responding to thump on Tech in Allendale. Mainly because I haven't seen much reason to brag about GVSU this season, they're not up to the lofty arrogant standards Grand Valley fans expect, IE see Arrogent Big Ten fans who think their teams are Championship Bound every year. but I would like to point out the fact that I have been behaving myself somewhat in that respect. :p

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #170: Fair Weather

So have they forgotten to shut down threads again and are only shutting down ones they deem inappropriate?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #170: Fair Weather

Good morning Lodge.

I'm busy planning my trip to New Hampshire this weekend. Should be fun. But first I have a stop near Les' neck of the woods. Visiting a supplier in Tyngsboro Friday afternoon.

I was going to buy tickets to that Justin Moore, Randy Houser and Josh Thompson concert, but didn't want to spend more money on tickets the same week I dropped $600 on George Strait and Eric Church tickets. Plus opening morning of my deer hunting season is the morning after that concert, which isn't very convenient. Luckily I saw Justin Moore when he opened for Church, and I saw Randy Houser when he was at Toby Keith's earlier this year. Justin Moore is really putting out some good stuff lately, his new CD is pretty awesome, and just a hint, his next single to be released in the next week or 2 is going to be huge. Great song.

....That water towers' got the sun going down behind it
If theres a good time in this town, girl, we're gonna find it
You look so **** good climbing up in my Chevy
Tried to play it cool, but I knew already
By the way you looked in the dashboard lights
It was gonna be one of those nights...
(chorus)
I've got the Kenwoods banging that rock and roll
Whisper to me baby where you wanna go
I can ride you 'round town or drive you down some old backroad
I love the way you lean that seat back
steal my ball cap, pull it down over your blue eyes
watchin' your hair fly out the window
Lettin' the night roll, and I can't wait to see where it goes...

edit: also, mav, make sure you listen to "I'd want it to be Yours" before the concert, this is not optional. I am guessing it will be played, since it is on his new album, but it won't be a single yet, if ever. You'll want to know it.

The last stressful deadline of the year passed yesterday. The last return we printed, to review for errors, was 961 pages, covering 9 states.

Now I get a chance to breathe, and hockey tomorrow night.

Appreciate the advice. I'll have to check it out later today. It works for me to go to this concert because with the new hockey job, we scrimmage early the next morning, so no more trips to Iowa City once that all starts. I can't even imagine how awesome Houser was at TK's.
Good mornin' folks. Two exams today. I've had trouble sleeping the last couple nights, so coffee is a dear friend today. Actually feeling alive and awake currently.

Nice leaf peeping around here now. That is down the road from the rink by only a few minutes. Are you taking in the Quinnapiac game?

MEUSA- Parking is 10 and 15 $ in the lots.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #170: Fair Weather

I'm running the scoreboard for a charity hockey tournament this coming weekend, the same as I did last year. The problem I have with this, well, the biggest problem, is that the controls for the scoreboard aren't exactly perfect. I would push a button, but it wouldn't send its signal to the board. So sometimes the clock would run when it shouldn't, or wouldn't start when it should. Add to that, the tournament is made up of mostly AHA guys (Adult Hockey Association), so half of them think that there are scouts in the stands and lose all sense of decorum. If it wasn't to help out a friend, I would have said no this year. As it stands, I now look forward to a weekend of people yelling at me. If any of you engaged guys want to come down and help, Plymouth Ice Arena/Community Center, I'm told it's great prep for marriage.

Put up a little disclaimer in the glass facing the ice "This clock is like a teenager. It has a mind of its own. I am trying to make it do what it should..."

No plans for the Quinnipiac game, and I'll get to see UMass-Lowell next weekend when they visit Ann Arbor. My goal is to be out of Tyngsboro by 4 so I have plenty of time to get to UNH (catching Michigan at UNH both Friday and Saturday night).
