Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #166; And Now On To....

The weatherguessers are saying Denver is out of snow mode for the weekend. Lots of sun and temps rising to the low to mid 70s for the next four or five days before turning cool next Wednesday. Big lacrosse game on tap for tomorrow with DU playing Michigan. If the Pioneers win they'll win the regular season conference title and carry the #1 seed into next week's ECAC post-season tourney. Denver is in a solid position to earn a spot in the NCAA tourney and perhaps host a first round game. Have a good weekend.

Howdy Lodgers.

Next weekend is The Derby, and I had an awesome time hosting a Kentucky Derby party last year. I'm debating holding one this year. Myself and most of the friends I'd invite are going to the Michigan softball game at 1 pm...plenty of time to get to my place have mint juleups and watch the race.

My question is, would it be wrong to have multiple themes? This year's Derby is on 5/4, which some of my nerdy friends call "Star Wars Day" (May the 4th be with you). The next day is Cinco de Mayo. So, I'm considering a Star Wars fiesta Derby day. Is that too ADHD of a theme?

Prediction: Unranked Michigan upsets DU, and ASaaG too.

You could also have an Easter theme since Easter is on the 5th.

There's gotta be a way to tie in Kent State (04 May 70) and Maggie Thatcher (1st female PM, 04 May 79). Big day, 4 May.

Reminds me of the other night. There is a rabbit that has been hanging out in the yard this spring and the kids think it's pretty neat. Little gII named him Sparky. The other night as I was preparing dinner (chicken), little gII asked me what I was cooking for dinner. I replied, "Sparky". The look on his face was priceless. :D

I really need to stop browsing online stores like Amazon.....I just bought 3 Eric Church vinyl abums. :p
(I then then called my mom and asked her to dig out her old record player and bring it with when she comes up tomorrow)

Did you eat a lot of paint chips as a kid?

Mrs and Jr are volunteering at a function in a downtown hotel so I'm sampling some happy hours. So far the Beefeater and tonic at Porter and Frye is why better than the T&T at Hilton. Cheaper too and the sweet potato fries are good too.
