So am I supposed to cheer for the refs in this game? If I don't I am a terrible fan, right?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #164: Weekend Plans

Congrats to St.Clown and LwB!! Nice to see some new blood at the tournament. I can go and enjoy and not stress. :)

My supermarket was closed today. I get that it's Easter. I get that this supermarket chain probably closed to allow people to spend the day with their families, which is really admirable. But not everybody celebrates Easter today, or at all. Now I need to go tomorrow after work.

Hope everyone that does celebrate today had a lovely day. I'm watching the QU-UC game right now even though I still have a few more shows from last week to watch. Will do that after the game is over. I've done three loads of laundry today. Need to start planning what I'm bringing to Pittsburgh!!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #164: Weekend Plans

Les, ask the boss if the office really needs to be open that Thursday. Ask it in a serious way, letting the boss truly know why you want the time, but in a sincere way that if it must be open, you will absolutely be there as expected. Give the boss the chance to surprise you. It may be a one in twenty shot, but let the boss be the hero you haven't seen yet. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. And ask now, because you want to give them as much time to reschedule or schedule some late hours in the interim to make it work. Propose a plan where you take responsibility for developing a plan of action, and for making sure the work gets done. I don't know exactly what you do, so I can't be more specific with a suggestion. Even true bassturds can be surprisingly compassionate - give the boss that chance. Make the boss believe that you are sacrificing more than you are getting - for example, offer to have that Thursday and Friday count as an entire week of vacation. You said you are the only one scheduled for Thursdays - talk to your colleagues and see if one will step up and cover for you. Give them the chance to be your hero.

Yeah Les, Listen to UncleRay. For once in his life the man had a lucid thought: come up with a plan of attack. Maybe you could offer your boss a freebie.

I'm talking about free medical coverage. Whadja think I meant?

So someone local wants one of my FF tix which would leave a pair which should be easier to sell.

I called in the chips for the last 2 Fridays. She took some of my pts Fri to make sure I could get out.

We are very, very small. Me and the Doc. The other NP just left abruptly (3 wks notice)- it takes about 6-8 weeks to have another provider up and running even if we had one we were ready to hire. The Doc is going away on vacation the WE of the FF. Has been on call 24/7 for about 8 months straight and planning this since Nov with her family. In my office we usually give 8 wks notice to get a day off because of scheduling issues which are way more complex than most people would imagine. This isn't an issue of anyone being obstructionist. It is really unfixable.

Glad to see the happy result for the fans from St Clood. Welcome to the HHT!! And Mark will be joining us soon unless something cataclysmic happens! :D

The happy illustrators are now totally repentant. The jury is still out on how we will proceed but it appears they made a serious error of judgement rather than acted maliciously. Still pondering.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #164: Weekend Plans

why are you not just going and seeing hockey?

Time and money. I don't have enough of either to throw any away. Airfare to Pitt is not cheap and neither are hotels, kid can't really afford the time off from school, etc., etc.
