Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #164: Weekend Plans

Also, I'm going to finish up writing thank you cards from my dads funeral in front of them. In laws did very little in regards to support of any kind and they do not deserve nor will they be getting a card. Mil is old school and not getting a card will drive her bonkers. I am bad. Bad to the bone.[/QUOTE]:D Nicely played passive aggressiveness.

It's not that I can't get excited by pro sports, it's just that I no longer get emotionally invested in the outcomes any longer.

I watch the NHL, and I can appreciate the immense talent on the ice, but it doesn't really excite me the way a college game will. I think it has a lot to do with being 15 years old when the North Stars left town. I'm more into the NFL than the NHL, but you're never going to catch me calling KFAN or anything like that.
After realizingjust how much money plays a part in who plays, who has an up=down contract and the fact that players can switch allegiances like underwear I have a hard time feeling loyal to a team. THat and I find it irritating that someone has to have a contrived fight in a game to make sure the fans get their money's worth. If I expect my 16 yr old to be able to control himself I expect someone paid a few mil to do the same and show me hockey not some trumped up slap show so fans can get jacked up about who threw what punch. (so call me a girl)

I agree. My possible date hinges on your guys beating YLAE. I'll cheer for the Gophers for my own personal gain...but I will NOT freaking spell!

Wait. Why does your date depend on the Minn/Yale result?

Without knowing more than you do about this, I'll take a swing at answering your question.

It depends upon the outcome of the game because if Minnesota wins, he gets to pay for her night at the bar while they watch the game and be no further along than when the night started.

We're well trained on that subject in this state. It's otherwise known as MN Nice.
