Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #163: Irish Eyes Smile

When I was at uconn in the summer I would see them taking pictures around campus for various literature. It only looked liked that about 1-2 weeks in the school year near finals. The rest of the time, in transition or nothing on the trees.

Exactly! Those lying bastids. Oughtta be a law!

Perfect. No one can prove you pushed her, say she fell in as she tried getting a peak, it's fool proof.:)

Nice mountain pun, Websters. :p

I came across the surname Goettlicher today. I snickered. A lot.

I can hear a high school football coach: "Hey! Goat Licker! Get in there!"

3 days until I'm getting shmammered and oogling lots of beautiful women in not much clothing in Miami. Y'all can have your final five ;)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #163: Irish Eyes Smile

I have another reason for not getting married. No one will put up with me.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #163: Irish Eyes Smile

It's too expensive in the long run to get married. Right now, I get a $200,000 exemption for Obama-taxes. If I get married, that drops to $125,000. If I want to retire how I plan to retire, I can't afford that sort of burden.

If I met an absolute perfect fit I'd be open to it, but for now single is better than a bad relationship/marriage/divorce. Seen too many friends fall victim to those.

Here here! The playboy lifestyle is treating me well! :D :D ;)

However, I don't quite take the view of FlagDUDE. If the right one came along, and I knew it, I wouldn't view a modest marriage ceremony as an expense in the long run.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #163: Irish Eyes Smile

My reason for not getting married: my life is in disarray and I don't want to introduce anyone else to my problems right now. Gotta fix myself first before I bring a lady on board. Besides, the only lady I would marry right now is about 25-30 years older than me and has been acting as a "mother" in my life.

You missed my point. I wasn't just talking about the ceremony and/or the reception. I'm talking about every day after that.

I'm a frugal cheapskate; it runs in the family. I'd find a way to profit off of a wedding.

When my sister got hitched, she wanted the big wedding, ceremony at the really nice park gardens, booze bus for the wedding party, reception hall with DJ, whole nine yards. My father (an accountant and pretty much where I get my frugality from) wanted anything but that. He offered my sister an all expenses paid 1 week trip to Hawaii, no strings attached, to call off the big wedding. She turned it down. All said and done, at least $20K was spent on traveling to and putting on this thing by all interested parties combined.

I told my dad he doesn't have to worry about going through that ever again with me.

Oh, and I'd also make my future wife sign a pre-nup.

Of course, this could just be 29 year old me speaking. We'll see what I say at 40 when the male pattern baldness starts to set in.
You'll want to get married before that.

I know a good urologist in the Twin Cities if you need a referral.

I've got the best reason for not getting married: I already am! Best thing that ever happened to me. Happier, healthier,.....
