Morning, Lodgrz.

Yeah, but it's really entertaining to see you (and mookie too) toy with them. It's like that guy in "Charlie Wilson's War" playing chess against six guys and briefing a Congressman. :D

That's the beautiful Boston spring I remember so well. Then my parents would show up in mid-May to bring me home, and the dogwoods would be exploding all up and down Bay State Road, and they'd say, "What are you talking about? This place is beautiful!":rolleyes:

When I was at uconn in the summer I would see them taking pictures around campus for various literature. It only looked liked that about 1-2 weeks in the school year near finals. The rest of the time, in transition or nothing on the trees.

Morning.

Spring is a day away, yet we are still getting cold (30s) and a bit of rain/snow. Luckily, I am headed to Hawaii on Thursday for a week. So the weather can suck it!

Hopefully when i come back I'll have a fiancee.

I never understood the whole deal of the engagement stage, or huge weddings. If you want to get married, when you ask, you might as well just find a podunk town hall and get it done then and there. It's much more cost efficient, and even more if you just go downtown.

Because women said so...

Woke up this morning with a sore throat. It better be done with by Thursday.

Speaking only for myself. I have no interest in anything large, or extravagant.

However, I am presented with the opportunity to ask while on a pre-planned family vacation to Hawaii. Why wouldn't I take advantage of that instead of asking while at the local Applebee's?

The only thing working here at work is the internet. If it is like this tomorrow, I have already said that I am not working so I can start my weekend early.

I wouldn't do it at an Applebee's...take her somewhere classy like The Olive Garden.

Didn't you hear (true story), Olive Garden is slowly changing their restaurants. Lower prices, smaller portions, new uniforms, and a de-emphasis of their decor and the "your family" brand. So I don't know what ND is gonna do now for a classy night out.

Felt this way yesterday, went back to bed and slept for four hours to make sure I was okay. Much better today. If all else fails, whiskey is a solid remedy, right?;)

Hey old guy..are you going to be in Saint Paul at all this weekend?

I may be the oldest guy, but not the only old guy - there's still Greyeagle.:p I hope to be at the Friday game and Saturday if the Gophs win - I may go to Saturday by myself if they they lose, but might still go.

The fact that you repel women is just an unrelated side issue? :p

It's too expensive in the long run to get married. Right now, I get a $200,000 exemption for Obama-taxes. If I get married, that drops to $125,000. If I want to retire how I plan to retire, I can't afford that sort of burden.

I'm in no rush to do it either. I enjoy my freedom too much. I like being able to come home from work and do nothing if I so desire. If I met an absolute perfect fit I'd be open to it, but for now single is better than a bad relationship/marriage/divorce. Seen too many friends fall victim to those. I'm making more than enough to sustain myself and build a rainy day fund.

The crazy pipe dream retirement is to keep saving, retire early, sell everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, I own, buy an RV or a fifth wheel/truck, drive the Al Can back down to the Lower 48, and become a fulltimer RVer just roaming the country doing whatever.

Of course, this could just be 29 year old me speaking. We'll see what I say at 40 when the male pattern baldness starts to set in.

Going into retirement, married couples tend to be healthier and wealthier than their single counterparts.

I came across the surname Goettlicher today. I snickered. A lot.

It's Anglicized from German, where it means divine. Still, it's phonetically awesome in English! :)
