Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #162: Love Is In the Air

Just tried the new Monster Zero Ultra. I like it, different kind of taste than the others, and it makes it taste not like an energy drink. It almost has an orange tang flavor to it. Plus its one of their sugar-free, calorie-free versions.

Never been big on energy drinks. Have the occasional shot or drink with one when I "need" one, but don't use them for daily use.

If anything I use a supplement from a nutrition company that's non carbonated.

My job has me in C stores all the time, its amazing how many "kids" buy energy drinks, not sure how much a can but certainly more expensive than coffee and full of chemicals one can't pronounce

I drink them regularly. That don't taste like ****, like coffee does. They're expensive, but not more expensive than getting a big designer cup of coffee at Starbucks.

An update on my electrical problem... We're pretty much back up and running. The oil man finished installing the required parts for the boiler but there's still a small issue with the indirect hot water heater. Its aquastat appears to be flaky although it tested fine. We have to keep an eye on it (and the water temp) over the next day or 2 and let him know.

I got a new cable box (DVR) this afternoon and the wife picked up a cheap flat screen TV for the bedroom so I can watch hockey!

I also went for my 6-month check-up with the pulmonologist for my emphysema today. My spirometry numbers fell by about 4% yet again so he's starting me on a 2-wk treatment of prednisone to see if it helps open up my lungs. He warned me about the side effects of the 'roid: "your appetite may increase". The last time he told me that 4 years ago, I gained almost 25 lbs!

Ugh...

good news on the house, not so good news on your body. I was one Prednisone for my UC, didn't do anything for me, hopefully it will help you

Never had an energy drink except for that one time at a bar when I had a shot or two or three that had some kind of energy drink in it. Coffee for the win.

This morning I stopped at Caribou and had a large depth charge with an extra shot of espresso. (depth Charge is a large coffee with a shot of espresso or in my case two shots of espresso)

Mark........good luck wi the house and the health.

S'upp y'all

Wow, does it ****** for you too and swap yer pads every four weeks? :p
I'm shooting blanks. Not my doing, but I see he's green again. I wouldn't mind if he were as red as the Kremlin the way he traipses through a few threads like his poo don't stink. I'll do my part. Spread the word to your thugs.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #162: Love Is In the Air

Coffee. Black. Mmmm. Don't care where I get it. Not a big fan of the foo-foo Latte stuff. Coffee black. :)

Holiday & SA aren't bad for cheap stuff. Prefer Caribou if I buy the fancy stuff or grind beans at home.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #162: Love Is In the Air

Holiday isn't bad for the cheap, I agree. I like coffee, but I usually only drink it in winter/when it's cold. And no foo-foo stuff. When Sloe Gin and I visited his wife at Starbucks the last time, I asked for the blackest coffee they had. They were really confused for some reason. Yes, people, there are some that like their coffee plain and simple, not all dressed up like some tropical drink with straws and umbrellas.

I got Starbucks for the first time last week and I got what I thought was just black coffee. But they put a bunch of sugar and cream in it. And who knows, maybe something else.

You have to specifically ask for it black. I was forewarned.

And you know who has great cheap coffee (and strong as hell)? Perkin's.

If I have to get Starbucks again I'll ask for black. I don't mind sugar and cream. Prefer cream though. Hope that doesn't count as "foo foo" ;)

It's close. ;)

Actually I have to admit, back in the day when I worked 14 hour shifts at the Burnsville Mall (pizza food court place), we traded pizza for Gloria Jean's coffee, on the condition we got quad-shots of espresso in our coffee. It was needed.
