Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #161: Needs More Wub

Actually it is next Tuesday. :p

Well, yes... except the celebration in it's entirety started January 19th with parades and whatnot. And this weekend leading up to Mardi Gras is typically silly.

Whatever, I'll go find trouble at the Florida State Fair maybe.

The sleet hasn't started here yet. We're only supposed to get 3-5" of snow here, I think. That's a non-issue. It's the ice that has my attention.

Evening.

Rain/snow mix for us scheduled for tomorrow. But Sunday through Tuesday look to be near 50, so I can deal.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #161: Needs More Wub

Finally home after a loooooooong day at work. Was up and out the door to be at the event location at 7:30am. People started showing up when the doors opened at 8:30. We had Mike Eruzione, Michelle Kwan, Aly Raisman, Heath Calhoun (Paralympian skier), Amy Purdy (Paralympian snowboarder), John Benton and Tracy Sangjecht (sp?) who are curlers. They were all pretty cool. Met employees and took pictures. We had a curling experience (with synthetic ice), a bobsled simulator, which was like am amusement park ride - awesome, a snowboarding simulator, a bobsled to take pictures in, another photo op with a Sochi mountainscape background, Wii games of Olympic sports, a hockey experience where you cold be a goalie-it was like a video game. All very cool. It's been an intense few months of planning and it all paid off. We had smaller sized events in six other cities across the US and starting next week, we have events in 23 other office locations across the country. Let the games begin indeed.

And we dodged such a huge bullet with regards to the weather. Thank God the storm held off till tomorrow. I don't know what we would have done if we had it planned for tomorrow.

Went out for a martini afterwards. And some apps. I was starving. And thirsty. :) I will be going in to work for a few hours tomorrow before the snow gets really bad. Unless I get a call in the morning that we're closed for the whole day.

I am afraid of what I would have to do to put it in the box before cutting a hole in it.

I don't know what it would take to make that a successful venture, but the outcome would be many, many paper cuts. You're welcome to them.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #161: Needs More Wub

So I bought a new Samsung Galaxy MP3 player online a few days ago and it arrived yesterday. I'm getting the thing setup for my computer, loading its Kies media player and such, and right now the Kies player is loading my music library into it so I can then load music onto the mp3 player. It's been going for 30 minutes now and it's still in the J's for artists. I had hoped to have my mp3 player loaded with music tonight, but I don't think that's happening. It never occurred to me how large my mp3 library has grown over the years. Damn. I'd really have liked to use it on the bus tomorrow.

How many songs do you have?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #161: Needs More Wub

When I get my new laptop, I need to figure that CD-->MP3 stuff out. I have about 5k songs on my hard drive, and another 500+ cds to burn.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #161: Needs More Wub

I'm at ~7000 songs on iTunes/iPod. :o
Still have a several CDs i haven't burned yet and it doesn't hurt one of my brother-in-law's is a music whore....he has thousands of CDs. Plus, I'm a cheapskate and get a lot from the library. :)
