Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #161: Needs More Wub

Well, what was your opinion? He may be right. :p
I asserted that government transfer payments and taxes paid by others are not the same thing. That cutting off a person from those payments is not the same as an assessed tax. While they have the same net effect on a person's budget, in that they lower the amount that person has to spend, they are still two completely different things.

Oh. Well that doesn't seem very idiotic at all.

You dared to think that a cut in a subsidy is different from a tax increase? Isn't a subsidy the same as all other income?

So the head case on my kid's hockey team got a reprieve from his benching last night. Not sure if he apologized or the coach got pressured by the parents and/or the board to let him play. He scored ALL 5 of our goals last night. Meanwhile, his dad was in the stands challenging the opposing parents to go fight him the parking lot. This is the same yahoo who caused the refs to stop a game and call the cops at a tourney in Duluth. Wonder where the kid gets it.

Sounds like this kid doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of anger management.

I think that's a given. He's 15 and, I think, ruined for life. Given his parents I wonder how he can function at all (he barely does).

That is too bad. When the parents are like that any attempt to teach the kid the real way of the world is risky for you and the kid.

Afternoon, Lodge-O.

Sorry about your dad, gmann.

If you know the song, you know the answer. :p

Sheesh. If it wasn't Edina I'd think there was a trailer park nearby.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #161: Needs More Wub

Now I am not sure which you are talking about, SSP or Edina. :D

well if i go by where we were (X, hockey bar, tailgate). north was the interstate, south the river. MSP is west (southwest). so if SSP isn't across the river, it is either between all that and the airport where i drove through, or east where i didn't go.

Okay. SSP is indeed across the river from where we were, to the southeast.
