Happy Birthday gmann! I baked you some oatmeal raisin cookies to celebrate! Now have your Beavers go out and pummel the Jan Brady all Stars.
Another "small world" saga. I was scanning the Honor Roll list for my kid's school just out of curiosity. Saw a name that is not real common that was the name of a frat brother of mine from 30+ years ago. I looked the frat brother up in linkedin and we have some common connections and there was an indicator that he could have a kid at that school. I sent a message via linkedin and asked if he had a kid at that school. He replied that the one I was asking about is his daughter (she's a junior, my kid's a freshman) and he has an 8th grader too. When I got home I mentioned it, and her name, to my kid. He did a double take and asked if she is taking French. I don't know, so he went on Facebook and confirmed that she is in his French 4 class and he helps her with French "a lot." Too weird.

Plus, I'd have to leave early to make it in time for faceoff and I just can't do that today. Work is insane as we finalize plans for our USOC Sponsorship launch next week. It may jeopardize my appearance at the Beanpot on Monday.

Heard a loud noise after a fell asleep on the couch last night. It woke me up, and I have no idea what it was, but it sounded like it was coming from downstairs. I was very happy with my reaction time; within 5 seconds of hearing it, and waking up, I was standing and had the gun up and ready to go. If anyone comes into my house uninvited, they best be expecting some rather large holes in their chest.

I cleared the house and garage, and then spend some time looking out the windows, to see if I could see anyone. Didn't see any person, but I did see the neighbor's motion light come on, for no apparent reason. Maybe there was someone running around outside....I am planning on checking for footprints tonight. And I won't shoot to kill unless they have a gun too. Really, I'd rather not have to shoot someone breaking into my house, I don't feel like spending money on new carpet and repairs to sheetrock right now.

Pittsburgher's don't know winter. Going to be 21 today, WC might bring the temp down to feel like as low as -3 sometime today. I might wear a light jacket.
Schools get 2 hour delay nearly every day in the winter due to a variety of things. A little wind, a quarter inch of snow, light rain, the sun coming up, etc.
