50 questions about badminton!
Now Ralph will go study up on badminton so he's prepared in case there is ever a pop quiz. That's the problem with being smart; it's a full-time job.

No, but then I work whenever there is work. That's the way it is when self employed.
Work? Oh yeah, that thing that keeps me so busy that I never have time to say Happy Flippin' New Year, Lodge!

And lewis, Lil can't be that little anymore.

Lil is a Jr in HS. He is now Lil only in girth. 5'8+ and 125 lbs soaking wet. :p

Happy New Year to you too!

Evening Lodge.

Jr's team won the Anoka Classic tourney today, 25-3-1 right now.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #160: Resolute in 2013

So the hockey team I put together to play in the US Pond Hockey Championships, the team that went 0-3 for the first three years, only to go 1-2 the next two years, then 2-1 last year, has now gone 3-0 the year I'm not on the team. Even with their 3-0 record, they didn't make it out of the round robin round. There were 100 teams playing Rink Rat and 23 of them had 3-0 records. With the championship bracket being 16 teams, the tie-breaker went to GA and then GF. My team was #18. Game results were 10-9 (played in slush Saturday morning), 15-1 (played in 25-30 MPH winds Saturday afternoon), and 12-4 (2 degrees at game time). This year had it all for weather.

I wasn't there for this part, but I'm told that with the wind gusting as it did the main warming house tent was evacuated and declared structurally unsound. Wear did they put everyone? They put them onto the lake. Where's the lake in relation to the tent? That's right, the lake is down wind from the tent.

It also could be useful for Sports Association. :D

I remember a standing offer in one of my gym classes in HS: teacher said if one could beat her in badminton, one would get an A and don't bother showing up for class the rest of the semester. Lose? You get a C, no matter what, unless you skipped a class due to non-med reasons. Then it was an F.

No one defeated her. We all tried.

Anyone who would take her up on that offer is a chump and deserved the C for being an idiot.

There were 3 that came close. Two took her into "extended" scoring. I lost by two in "regulation." The rest failed miserably.

Well, I went into Best Buy today to upgrade my phone. While we were waiting I walked over to the Magnolia store to sit and watch a movie. I noticed they still had my TV on sale... This was the most expensive phone upgrade trip I've ever had in my life.

You had women gym teachers?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #160: Resolute in 2013

You had a man? I never had a man Gym teacher that I can remember.

I am a bit confused. (So what is new? ;) )

I was surprised that Brent had a woman gym teacher which I concluded from his use of the word "her". (No math was involved in drawing that conclusion. ;) ) All of my gym teachers were male, just like all of yours were female.

I guess that I shouldn't be surpised that Brent, who is much younger than me, had at least one woman as a gym teacher, since such things are changing.

There was a woman who sat next to us for the first part of the season this yr who wanted to know all sorts of things about the school. My favorite- "Do they have co-ed dorms? I hope not that leads to sin." She was a bit older but really?!?!??!! They had coe-ed dorms 30 yrs ago when I went there. Can't imagine what sin they have now with their little suites!

Good Morning Lodge. About -4 here with wind chill in the -25 to -30 range.

On the topic of "who is working on MLK day" - I have a normal day of work, but am taking a half day off to do something with my son who is off from school. Will leave at 11 and go see a movie or something. He'll probably sleep till 11 or so anyway.

One of the kids on my son's team got caught smoking the ganja (not red handed but the kid who did get caught ratted him out). All the kids on the team knew he was toking up. Should I talk to the parents of the other kids who are known pot-heads? I'm torn on this one. It's all rumors and largely based on who the kids hang out with. On the other hand if I was as clueless as some of these parents appear, I think I'd like to get a hint from another parent who heard the rumors.
