Grandmother has decided to stop all treatments, nurses don't expect her to make it through the night. Has had some labored breathing and she told my dad she is just beat, tired of fighting. No services, direct cremation so no reason for me to go home really. Sucks.
Condolences to you and your family.Passed at 1145 eastern peacefully. She'll be joining my Grandfather up there somewhere.

Your mom lives close to Brent?Just found out that my mom's made an offer on a townhouse, can't wait to get away from all the drunks, bullies, and crazies that live in this neighborhood. I feel bad for the poor suckers who will buy this house.
This. Sorry hpSounds like that was her choice and that she knew that it was her time, that she had fought as long and as hard as she could for the quality of life that she wanted. Both my Dad and Grandfather made the same choice, that lingering in a nursing home or hospital away from loved ones wasn't worth it to prolong their lives for just a few months.
That doesn't make the grief any easier to handle. Even if they don't have a service, I'd suggesting heading home to spend time with your family.
