Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #155: Back to School

I worked in one of the buildings W visited when he took a tour of mother mining a few years ago. Two days of prep for the secret service for just one building which is not open to the public. Pretty cool to see. Only difference for most of us were parts of the building off-limits and we could not enter or leave the building while the President was in our building or in transport to/from our building.
In OKC our instructor was telling us how much of a cluster******* it was when you were controlling Air Force One. They come in a few days before and do prep stuff. When AF1 is under your control, there are two secret service agents standing behind you, and your supervisor is plugged in with you in the override position. He said it was so overboard it was funny.

Running the reset crew today went better than I expected. Got a lot done. Still hate my job with a passion though.

If you hate it that much, have you considered just a change of scenery? I've seen local Lowe's and Menard's are hiring, it may be similar to what you're doing now, but maybe a simple change of scenery would help. It may also be lower pay, or something like that, in which case, I'd understand the not wanting to make the change.

I have thought about that, but I am sure that I'm simply over moving crap around on shelves. It just doesn't matter. None of it matters.

That's a long way to go for one game! Keep me posted on your plans. I'll let you know the hotel when I hear. I'm flying Thursday, because I can. Not sure if I'm renting a car. I want to chat with the parents and/or others that are going before I do that.

You'll probably want a car, I don't believe the public transportation system in Grand Forks is quite up to the level you've grown accustomed to. ;)

Oh, there will be a car that is rented, but I may not be the one renting it. Are any of you maybe thinking of meeting me there????

Probably not, I don't think I pull it off with the Houghton trip 2 weeks before, and the Anchorage trip the weekend after.
