Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #153: Condiments, anyone?

That is complete bull****. I should have just stuck to regular DVDs.

Honestly, unless it's a heavy special effects movie, or some sweeping landscape movie, I don't see the need for Blu-Ray. I mean, do I really need to see "Super Troopers" in Blu-Ray super HD? Not really.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #153: Condiments, anyone?

I'm gonna guess your phone carrier is limiting your bandwidth speed. Yes, you have unlimited, but I dunno if it says how fast it HAS to be.
No, it wasn't to actually watch the episode, that played just fine, no skips or anything. My phone is NOT the problem. It took an hour to just get the goddamm playstation to start to play the episode. I had to sign into some bull**** network, and it made me make some ****ing profile, that I'll never use. Then it had to update, and download, then update, and download again, then update, then restart, then I had sign on to some website to confirm something, then I had to change my password, then I had to verify it online, then I had install some app, then I had to go to Amazon.com to register something, then I had enter some stupid code.....on and on and on and on. Complete bull****. It took an entire ****ing hour to get one episode to play. I should have thrown the thing in the garbage.

Or, you know, just get internet at home like us modern people. ;)

So the issue was getting setup to use Amazon's streaming content through your PS3 and not the playing of said content then. Is that right?

It had absolutely nothing to do with the internet connection. The wireless signal my phone puts out is the same as the one your modem thing does.

Yes. And 90% of that was just getting the playstation to the point of actually letting me open the Amazon thing and logging into Amazon.

Ok, I see now. I guess I never had that problem (that I can remember) with Netflix over my PS3. Never tried Amazon's thing on there.

It gets better with subsequent uses. You should be automatically logged into Amazon any time you open it in the future. Now you'll just have to wait for the download of the movie/TV show itself. It takes longer to start through the PS3 than on your computer, but only a minute, maybe two.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #153: Condiments, anyone?

Most blu-ray players require an internet connection to play the latest discs, too. It's not just the PS3.
LOL Wut?

I have never had a Blu-Ray movie tell me it won't play because my Blu-Ray player isn't connected to the internet. The only thing it does is tell me that "some additional features (non-movie crap like online chat)" are unavailable unless you're online. The movies still play just fine without the internet.

Okay, that's the message. I just updated the software without really reading the messages.

I didn't even know they had locations in this state. I went to their site, and they have two - the U location on Washington Ave, and at the airport. Controversy just leads to free advertising sometimes.
