So the wall here comes down from 11:30-2.

Hopefully when I meet with the architects this afternoon I'll learn whether I'll have to/get to go to Azerbaijan. I'm just hoping we get a local engineer to partner with to help us interpret the local codes.

What kind of flights are there to Azerbaijan? Is it as simple as flying to London/Paris/Amsterdam/etc and catching a flight from there in, or do you have to have another connection?

He will have to fly to another US city first. There is only about 6 airlines that serve Azerbaijan internationally.

Example (via Skyscanner): Minneapolis --> Atlanta --> New York (change airports) --> Moscow --> Baku

Why not just fly to New York from Minneapolis, and avoid Atlanta. Or go from Minneapolis to Amsterdam, and then on to Moscow?

Yeah, but of the company is paying for it, its not worth the hassle. FWIW, I looked on Travelocity and found that you can fly Minneapolis to Paris to Baku, if you really wanted to.

It's because there is so much riding on it. So you stress about wether you should apply, did you do enough on your resume, what will they pay you... So much depends on it. I've had enough that I hope I get a raise soon so I don't have to worry about doing it yet again. Still scarred from my last 2 go rounds with it. Good luck.

Thanks! I'm applying for another part-time gig, but it's in the hospital, which is where I'd like to end up when I pass my boards next May. Right now, I'm not sure my time on the ambulance will be enough to get me a hospital RN job.

I don't think I can get by with only carry-on for 2 weeks in Sweden, plus diva's wedding, before coming back home. I do pack quite a bit though, especially since I usually need to pack steel-toe boots to wear at worksites, and they take up a bunch of room.

st. clown, I don't own any handguns, only long guns

Ah - I didn't realize it was for 2 weeks. That's a bit tough to fit into a carry-on.

MNS, do you still want to give me a quick ride to the airport tomorrow? I looked at my schedule, and I have to be there earlier than I thought, so we probably don't have time for lunch. I can get you back when we go to the Craig Morgan concert though. I'm planning on leaving my truck at the gf's apartment, so I'd just need a ride from the dinkytown area to the Humphrey Terminal.

I don't know why, but I find applying for jobs to be incredibly stressful.

At least you can find stuff you can apply for. I'm supposed to call my former neighbor today as she "has a few thoughts on the job situation". I guess she knows some guys at an aviation company that her employer uses quite a bit. However, I'm pretty sure it's in Switzerland.

Right, I thought you did say it was going to be for a week or two. Hell, if they're a pretty comfy pair, I would just wear the boots onto the plane. You would have the hassle of having to take em off at the airport, but that would save you some room in your luggage with just having a regular pair of shoes there.

You guys could probably save yourselves a lot of time and hassle with just letting Mr. Ben Franklin be your interpreter for all of the local codes and stuff. Probably what the local guy will tell you anyways.

That was going to be my suggestion to you--either have Brent or someone else coming from the Cities bring your stuff for that particular weekend.

It's Friday for me! Leaving around 6am for beautiful Englishtown, NJ for a weekend of NHRA drag racing at the Supernationals. Gonna sniff me some methanol and nitro while going deaf and baking in the sun (though the forecast is for clouds and maybe some rain). Then I'm home through Wednesday of next week so I can do a minor remodel project in our spare room. No matter what happens, I'll be out of work for almost a week!

You would have the hassle of having to take em off at the airport, but that would save you some room in your luggage with just having a regular pair of shoes there.

I have to wear the Lamas on the plane, I can't pack them, they'd get crushed.
