My team's games in the pond hockey tournament start today at 2:30. This will be the first time in a long time that our first game of the day will be held when the temperature's above zero. I don't know what to do with myself.

Chez Rube opens at 3.

Morning, kids. As noted above and below, Hockey Day in MN. Gotta do some grocery shopping, a little cleaning, etc. Then the crew is headed over for some hockey and then TK's afterwards. Looks like a gorgeous (relatively) day out, too. Bright and sunny.
Cool. I'll be there at 3:00 then. I have some errands to run before, then I'll just plan on heading over after that. I want to make sure I don't miss the end of the 'Tonka-East game.

That boarding call was crap at the 5:45 mark of the second. It's an overreaction to the Jack Jablonski injury, as tragic as it is. The GR kid hit the WBL kid from the side, hip to hip. That's not boarding.

Well...that was interesting. Power outage for 2 1/2 hours. Got a haircut, got some lunch, and found out the truck has to go in the shop. It's throwing a code, which is no big deal, but it's heating up much quicker than normal, which leads me to believe that something else is at play here. Great.

Shovelled the luge run (80ft of driveway at a serious grade), went to the farm to get milk and now popping a chicken pot pie in the oven. Yum. Should come out in time to listen to the game.

Went out to shovel out the car. Not much there to shovel, thankfully. Decided not to make the trek down to Rhode Island. They supposedly got it worse than we did and I'm worried it might get icy tonight.

well, they just reviewed a goal where they went bowlling for dollars and ran into the goalie knocking him over and then the puck opposing player and goalie all landed in the net. Our radio guy is saying the contact made it null. Anyone know the rule? I am too lazy to look it up.

It all depends on how the contact was made. If the forechecking player was unabated to the goalie, then it's disqualified. If the forechecking player was pushed into the goalie by a defender, then it could still count. And then if the puck goes in the net before the goalie is hit, none of the contact makes any difference unless the refs assign a penalty after the fact, but the goal still counts.

Thanks. The puck did not go in before the contact. Teh player did not appear to be pushed in but my feed is having serious hiccups so who knows :p

Good evening Lodge.

FWIW I am still working my azz off and I am on schedule to compete in my first triathlon this spring. I am slowly getting better at swimming. The swim will no doubt be sucktacular but I should be ok.

Spent a good part of my day spending money on iTunes and researching cats.
