Good Morning, Lodge!
So jealous. You are going to the 2 places I really want to go. Family in both places. Sweden we just connected to my GM family after a hiatus of 50+ yrs. liklihood of meeting them for real about zero.Hello Lodge.
I don't know how I feel about turning my smartphone off for a week while I'm out of the country. I think I'll develop the shakes after a day or two.
Have fun Final 5, guys. I'll be up for going out somewhere if I'm around but I'm guessing that I'll be traveling. That week is right in the wheelhouse for when I'm probably going to be in Sweden.

The telephone I won't miss, it is everything else that it does that I will miss. Seriously, it is so handy when I'm in a new city to quickly find a restaurant with good ratings, look up an address quick, or keep track of the score of a game.Don't any of you remember life without handheld telephones? Yeesh.

Yeah, I am getting an international phone from work to use, but it is just a dumb phone. I also bought a Kindle Fire recently, so I plan on using that when I find free internet. It just won't be as handy has having the Droid in the pocket whenever I need it.One of my colleagues went to Germany for a couple weeks recently. His phone service provider rented him a temp phone good for overseas use and they brought a laptop which they used in internet cafes, hotels, etc. where there was free wifi to do those sorts of things. Not perfect, but it worked for them.
This. Hard to find free wi-fi tho. I was paying a ridiculous amt for a minute...but we were in the repping craze and I was addicted. One of my colleagues went to Germany for a couple weeks recently. Also, for those who have traveled overseas, how do they work out drivers licenses? I am assuming that the UK honors US drivers licenses, and vice versa, but how do they manage that? They just assume that if your home country thinks you're good enough to drive, then you're good enough to drive anywhere? I'm more curious about it than anything...
That is the case for most places. The first time that I went to Europe I got an international driver's license through the AAA which has the advantage of having information in several languages, but I never needed it. Since then I have just used my DC license. I don't know if anything has changed recently.

I believe if you're US licences, you should be ok there in most of Europe, and I'm pretty sure it works in reverse as well. Had a roommate from Sweden and I let him borrow my beater at the time to go run a quick errand. He said he got pulled over by Ottawa County Sheriff for speeding. Cop had him dead to rights I think, but likely got out of it simply because of all of the umualatts used in his information. Cop let him go with a warning simply because he didn't wanna deal with the paperwork. Clearly, that would be the way to go if one ever wanted to make a fake ID.Yeah, I am getting an international phone from work to use, but it is just a dumb phone. Hello Lodge.
That week is right in the whorehouse for when I'm probably going to be in Sweden.
Just got back from the from the dentist. Swilling sugary drinks, sporadic brushing, and not getting regular checkups is a recipe for many cavities.
I have a choice between the Thursday games at the F5 and getting some free dental work (as it will be an exam for a dental student) or making all the games of the F5 but having to pay for the dental work.

Go to all games. More fun. Teeth can wait.![]()
Do the teeth. Free is a couple of mortgage payments if you need a lot of work. Hockey will always be there. Teeth won't.You willing to pay for it?
Not Final 5 hockey. Teeth will be there longer.Hockey will always be there.
