Nice poll - I am starting this thread at max rep and change. Just thought I would throw that out there. :)

It always makes me chuckle when short people frantically jump up trying to reach something.
I remember when we were having the physical fitness test in freshman gym. One of the requirements was to do some number of either pull-ups or chin-ups, can't remember which. Anyway, I couldn't reach the bar even if I jumped. The instructor watching this was the hockey coach Garry Kearns, who was all of 5'1", even shorter than me. He jumped up an proceeded to do do a series of one-armed chin-ups. I think they eventually allowed me to use a stool to reach the bar.

Merry Christmas, had a pretty good day, all my gifts to family were home runs (couple trail cams for my dad, kindle fire for my mom, and an old Yankee Stadium bleacher seat signed by Jeter for my sister(Got that as part of a goodie bag for a one night stand with him ;) kidding). Getting ready to sit down for a ham dinner, probably going to pick out a K-cup from the gazillion we now have in the house, everything from coffee, to hot apple ciders to iced teas. Drinking some Revv Coffee right now, has some guarana and ginseng in it for added energy or whatever they claim.

My haul:

- iPhone 4S from myself (doesn't really count, got it in early December since my family is ditching our cell phone plan)
- Carry holster and cleaning kit for my P228 from my dad
- Snapfish wall hangings of a bunch of my Facebook pictures from the family
- Mystery gift from my sister that encountered shipping problems (I suspect a spare tire cover for my Jeep)
- The biggie: from myself, this bad boy.

I got a nice roller duffle bag for travelling to/from work, a set of drink mixing tools, a really nice scope for my hunting rifle from my dad, I got myself my new big screen tv, then various smaller things from my Mom and sister. It was nice, but I will say it's been nicer to be home and around family/friends for the past 10 days or so. Back to the boat grind in a few/4 days.

So, my parents and I are relaxing at their house, when my brother and his family show up. He literally jumps through the doorway, proudly displaying his new "Keep Calm And Chive On" shirt (a website's shirt relatively hard to get, as when they are released, they sell out in minutes). I muttered, "You sonuvabi-" and in mid-word, he tosses me an extra one he bought, since he knew I wanted one. :D

That started the day off right. Nieces got some Lincoln Logs, so after dinner we built some log cabins and such, and of course for a late dessert, it was my mom's Grasshopper Pie. We only get that at Christmas, so it's always a highlight of the day. :)

Hope everyone else enjoyed their holiday!

Quiet Christmas here. My pot roast was a hit, I didn't get anything, and I went for a run this morning. Life goes on.

Glad all of you are enjoying your Christmases (or days off work.) :)

I got... a toaster. And socks. :o
actually, I got some pretty cool stuff besides that, specifically a satellite radio :-D.
Also, my nephews are still awesome, except when their parents want them to sleep and they would prefer to scream and cry. :p

Good evening Lodge.

Christmas has been great but I am ready for the holidays to be over.

I didn't get much for Christmas and that is ok. The g family does not get caught up in the commercial hype. Pretty basic and that is by design.

Biggest news of the day is that I think little gII figured out how to use the potty. Adios diapers.............

Merry Christmas Lodge! Hope you all had a good and safe time!

I received the grand sum of nothing, unless you count the meal last night and the cookies both yesterday and today. Oh, and I appear to have become a sworn enemy of my niece within family functions. Meh, whatever.
