Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 140: The Brave Days of Old

There's two, possibly three options for a joke here ;):

1. The UP is so backwards that people still get that?

2. Didn't know you swung that way!

3. A parting gift from your last two-week stand?

I thought that Scarlet fever is something that you get from babies who make a lot of noise on airplanes. ;)

I saw that and decided to hold my tongue. :p

And MNS, we're not some trailer trash association who hands jerseys down from season to season. Two new jerseys and two new sets of socks every season with name plates on the back of the sweaters. :p The unis are bought with funds from the team sponsors by the way. About $1500 per team for that.
Neither were we in SLP. Sort of. We kept one jersey color and the other was recycled for the next year. Then we did the same thing the next year with the other color. Though the "C" teams always kept the jerseys since they only had one color and they we're the cheapies.

1) it's a complication of strep, so to speak, not that uncommon, just not deadly like back in the day.

2) you learn something new every day.

3) we dated for 4+ months, and he left me for some nasty arse skank that I used to coach when she was in middle school. Thanks for playing, try again soon.

Mr just walked by and waved a pic of himself with the Stanley Cup. Lil can't be bothered to go stand in line for an hour. The cynicism of teenhood.

So my Mom and Grandma turned all of my brother's MTKA youth hockey jerseys into a blue-and-white checkered quilt that he used through high-school. Currently, I think that it's stuffed into the guest bedroom closet at my parents because it doesn't fit the decor that his wife wants in the house.

Had a nice little day off. Picked up some things at Target, including (Almsy will appreciate this) a double-burner griddle, then lounged around and watched "The League" all day. Quite relaxing.

Is it wrong that my first thought was: I wonder who I will want beat over the head with it at the F5 next year?

Yes. Your first thought should've been, "Awesome! Now we don't have to cut the bacon strips in half anymore!"

Will it be able to handle the crazy amount of bacon grease that would be produced? I find that cutting the bacon in half makes it much easier to handle while cooking.

I haven't totally examined it for that, but I'm sure we'll be alright.
