Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 140: The Brave Days of Old

Morning.

Got back from the ATL yesterday evening. Was a good trip. Lots of food, ugh. :D

Picked up a new sport coat, sweater and dress shirt for around $200 instead of the $600 it should have cost. So felt pretty good about that.

I think I picked up a bit of a cold/flu bug though. But it hasn't been bad, so hopefully it just stays as a minor nuisance instead of a full blown illness.

Star Wars IV: A New Hope is on. Little gII is a fan because of the toys and such but he has never watched it. I am a fan but I am not sure what the appropriate age is for a kid to watch it.

I wonder about that, too, with my 6-year old nephew.

Another great night. As MNS said, we met Stalker, and she's NPB. Crazy, though. Is it good or bad that when bbdl and I sat down at the bar, our favorite bartender sees us, and comes over to high-five us?

And new Urban Dictionary term: TKing: when one person is grinding another, and the grinder is getting spanked.

Origin: LWB was hugging bbdl, and Almsy slapped LWB on the arse. I cannot unsee that, btw.

Hi Lodge. Made it back to Michigan in time to go to today's hockey game against #26 Union.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 140: The Brave Days of Old

It's the end of the 1st, and I'm certain I'll be at the * hockey bar. Could someone get a drink ready for me? I'm playing in the Alumni Band and not allowed to start drinking yet

I assume your usual 32 oz glass?

Good morning Lodge. Sitting on my 10:10 bus home, waiting for it to leave. What a madhouse at the MegaBus lot. While waiting in line to board, this guy standing three people behind me threw up. So gross. Thankfully he got on an earlier bus.

Thankfully this bus has wireless.

Thanks for reminding me how much Megabus sucks. I've been toying with the idea of a marathon MSP - Chicago - Detroit - Pittsburgh trip (visiting friends in DET and PGH), but yeah... don't need to be crammed into a seat meant for a 12 year old with a smelly, nauseous pot smoker next to me.

Allowed schmallowed. That never stopped DormRat!

Afternoon, Lodge. Feels good being around the Lodge a bit again.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 140: The Brave Days of Old

Howdy everyone. Trying to catch up on the goings on around here, there are bunch of posts to go through after being off the board for almost 2 weeks.

I haven't had to work for a while, ****, a week+ long vacation is nice! Did some deer killing, got 2 does and a coyote, all running across a field. The first doe ran out of the woods about 50 yards from where I was standing, I shot at it 3 times, and she kept running. I was ****ed, thinking I missed 3 times. I got back to the truck and met up with another guy in our group and said something about being a ****ty shot, he told me to get in the truck and shut up. Drove over the hill and there she laid, with 3 holes in the chest, I can't believe she ran that far after being shot in the chest 3 times. After that, hitting the coyote running across the field at about 70 yards with the whole group watching, and hitting another doe running across the field, the guys seem to think that I'm a pretty damm good shot, and I probably am. :p

I broke down and bought a ticket to fly to Detroit for the GLI. I wasn't going to go, but an old friend from school wanted to meet up with me there, so that convinced me. My old friend being my hot blonde drinking buddy from school. I pricelined a hotel in Detroit, and got the Book Cadillac for damm cheap, which is pretty awesome. After the games we're driving to Chicago to do New Years Eve there, probably going to Navy Pier. It should be a good time!

Scarlet might appreciate this the most, but I was talking to my buddy from Iowa City, and apparently Ashton Kutcher was there over the holiday just hanging out at the mall (where my buddy has a second job) etc. I guess he had his bodyguard with him (obvious) but have heard he was totally down to earth, just a normal guy. That's kind of refreshing to hear. Funniest portion of the story? I guess he ate at the Panda Express at the mall. That's a win in my book!

He's a Hawkeye fan! He was on the sidelines for the game September 17th against Pittsburgh this year.

Brent, does your buddy work in Iowa City or Coralville's Mall?

He's also a *********. But still...a celeb sighting is never a bad thing.

Forever Lazy.

Now they're making Snuggies into pajamas.

People need to be beaten senseless with boat paddles.

Only rubbed elbows with one film celebrity in my life. Had a few beers and cigarettes with Josh Lucas at my ex-girlfriends (girlfriend at the time) family reunion. Evidently he is her second cousin.

Once had dinner with "The Skipper", he and my great-uncle (by marriage) were very close friends since their high school days and were best man at each others weddings. Really nice guy!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 140: The Brave Days of Old

Not sure if he's all that much of a celebrity, but PGA pro Zach Johnson is my cousin in law. I worked with the Vikings as security for Training Camp this year and met everyone, escorted AP to his meetings, etc. That was fricken awesome.
