Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 139: The Halloween Edition

Hey les,

this might be out of your comfort zone, but do you know what will loosen up a throat? I'm coming off a small cold and my throat has decided its minor phlegm day... not usually a problem except there's a karaoke contest tonight and the higher notes are coming off bad.... the rest of the range is like 98% good. I want to win. Is there anything OTC or any ideas?

I'm hoping it'll clear up by tonight.
Was at work. Hot salt water gargles- loooooong gargle, spit, repeat. Decreases the swelling. Strong tea has tannin in it and can hel to gargle with that too.

Plan on making any wishes today?

Ooh, what kind of cookies?

Good morning, Lodge! :)
Choc Chip- they are so boring. Always want the same thing.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 139: The Halloween Edition

I got me new shirts in the mail today...they're just as awesome as I expected. Now I need to go out tonight.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 139: The Halloween Edition

First Ave is great for concerts. Can't say I've ever gone there for any other reason, though.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 139: The Halloween Edition

neither do I but Lisa wants to go and I've never been to First Ave so I figure I should go once.

First Ave is great. Make sure you don't touch ANYTHING in the bathrooms, though. The nastiness of them are legendary. And make sure you wander around, there are a lot of nooks and crannies. It's pretty cool. If there ever is a band you like that is playing there, I highly recommend going, too. Although I'm still mad they put plexiglass on the upper level in the center. :(

Putting the chaincase cover back on my snowmobile, fricken snap 2 bolts I was able to get one out, the other is still stuck in and need a screw extractor to get out. Why cant toys be easier to put back together than take apart?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 139: The Halloween Edition

Who cares about the upper level? :p

It's a great view for a concert, or just to break away from the crowded downstairs. Plus, the upper bars are less frequented, so you get a drink quicker. ;)

And the people watching is also fun from the upper level.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 139: The Halloween Edition

I wouldn't be caught dead on the upper level for a concert.

When I saw Cake for the 2nd (might have been 3rd) time, my friends and I decided to sit in the upper level for a change of pace. For a punk show, it was main floor, on the edge of the mosh pit every time at the very least, IN the mosh pit most likely. Rancid had the most insane one, Foo Fighters (one of their first tours, they opened for Mike Watt) was a close second.

Brent, you're going to like the Maker's Mark holiday package. 2 glasses dipped in wax. :D Yes, I bought one.

I saw it, dunno if I'd have to handwash the glasses, though. Undecided whether or not to pick it up. The Glenlivet 12 has some cool glasses. It's like a tulip glass, without the stem/base. Crown has their normal glasses like every other year. There was another one, can't remember which, that came with a flask.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 139: The Halloween Edition

Guess I'll have to stop at the liquor store tomorrow and browse the holiday selections. :D

Hearing I'm at the HHT tonight after a rumored 3-2 win over Princeton. Nothing confirmed yet, and those silly ivies haven't figured out livestats yet, apparently.

Also got a 97 on my 100Q final today for tankerman class. Ended up 3rd overall, behind the #1 guy by .73 points. I'll take it.

Oh, and ordered my Christmas/Birthday gift for my sister. It might end up in Best Gift Evah status by her. Also bought some stuff off of backcountry.com since they have free 2 day shipping for orders over $50 right now. Capital One fraud dept called me soon after those purchases to confirm them... yep, doing a good job of burning the numbers off my card. I do love Capital One for that though.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 139: The Halloween Edition

Walks in stunned. Sits down at the HHT again !! At the Alphond no less

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 139: The Halloween Edition

Someone get me a double of Jack... this season is just PAINFUL...

oh hell, I'll probably need another after the first one...

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 139: The Halloween Edition

If you're at the HHT, I'd advise you to clear out in about half an hour. I have a bag of kittens already, and am about to pick up about 50 gallons of gasoline and some matches. You have been warned.
