Starting fluid for an old tractor that my grandpa still insists on using. We have all new Deere equipment, nothing more than 5 years old, except for one 1970 Deere that grandpa likes to use. The thing runs great, and has never needed work done in 40+ years, but it starts hard, so we carry cans of ether in it. A quick squirt in the air cleaner is enough to get it started.

I figured that, but it was more fun the other way....

Little g had a blast on the ice today. He was a trooper. I pushed him around the ice on a chair. He tried with everything he had to handle the puck and by the end he made big strides. Long way to go but we will take it. He put the puck in the net on one occasion and after he scored he did a fist pump and then he looked up at me and said "dad I knew I could make a goal."
It's stories like little g that help me get up some days when it seems like everything sucks. Great to hear about his hockey experience! :)

Good morning, Lodge!

HHT as well.

That might have been the most eventful intersquad scrimmage I've ever witnessed. First it's delayed 30 minutes due to a power outage. Then, during warmups, a player shatters the glass, so we spend about 40 minutes cleaning that up. Then during intermission we have the skills competition, and one player goes 102-101 on the hardest shot. This is Division III, mind you. And somewhere in the middle of the 1st period I found myself serving as one of the goal judges, sitting in the little box for the 2nd half of the game.
Go to the Box and feel SHAME!!! ;)

So is he going to start pestering you to teach him how to pull a sweater over the head and pummel the other guy?? ;)

Grandpa doesn't like all that fancy computer laden tractors eh??

Had a pretty good weekend here. kinda started out on a bad note with the power invertor I use to power my crock pot when I'm going to games promptly started to smoke when I plugged it into my car started to smoke. Eh, I had been thinking about getting one that was a bit beefier, so a quick stop at Cabela's and I got me a new one. Picked up Tremaine in Monroe and we headed on down to LEC. Nice little stadium they have there. And the Storm made it a lot more interesting for 3 quarters til GV woke up and they realized that they're Grand Mother Humping Valley and hung like 30 on them in the 4th. Then dinner with some friends of Tremaine at the Cheesecake Factory, then crashed at their place. Sunday we layered up and wore rain suits to go enjoy Cedar Point. Really nice to go there and wait like a half hour for a lot of the rides. Hell, it took longer to walk into Mantis than what we spent waiting. The really only long wait we had was for Maverick, and that was because they were switching all of the carts onto the track so they could operate at max I guess. some of the rides they only had one train going.

Very cool lil g!

Today's the day for The Lass, we head down to UMN Hospitals this afternoon to find out if she can get a Cochlear implant. She's excited and nervous.....as am I. Told her this may involve brain surgery and hopefully she's like her mom and they find one. :D

He won't even try to drive the combine anymore. Which is funny, since it is so much easier now. The computer senses where the corn rows are and it drives itself. The combine we're buying for next year drives itself and the grain cart driving next to it. So if you want to unload-on-the-go, the guy driving the tractor pulling the grain cart pulls up close to the combine, presses a button, and the combine and tractor talk to each other, so that the cart stays centered under the auger, and the tractor just follows the combine around. So the combine drives itself, then talks to the tractor which then drives itself and follows the combine. The new combine also comes with a mini-fridge in the cab, to keep the beer cold. Since, if the combine drives itself, you may as well enjoy a beer and watch the corn go by.

edit: Also, I just got back from Ralph's favorite place, the dentist, and now I'm trying to eat a burrito with a numb mouth. I'm failing miserably.

Good Luck to Maggie. I hope the inplant is a go and I'm sure she does take after her mom. Do you think she could dance like that if she took after Greyeagle?

Thanks and thanks to everyone else who posted kind words.

Good luck to you and yours.

gmann is a Bemidji fan, not a Sue fan.
Plus, my team will play in a real league in a few years not some trumped up league for a bunch of muckety mucked wannabes. ;)

Monster,
It's too late to get the pole dancing lessons anyway. They did sell over 300 courses.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 138: HOCKEY HOCKEY HOCKEY HOCKEY!

And you thought a quick squirt in the eye would help as well? :p
The nozzle was missing, just the plastic stem was left, so I had to press the stem with my finger, while still letting the ether spray out. Some of the stream of ether sprayed towards the air cleaner, and some shot out sideways from under my thumb right into my face.

So, that's what the farmers are calling it these days.........
