Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Good morning Lodge.

Hope all is well with everyone.

I am busier than a one legged guy in an azz kicking contest.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Good Morning Lodge

Almost weekend...going to Green Bay on Saturday to see a concert, staying there Sunday because I have to work in Green Bay on Monday. Then Monday afternoon I'm driving to Houghton for career fair to recruit some new hires. Can't wait for some DT wings.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Um, no. BSU would not have advanced in the college world without the WCHA. Period. Learn your common sense.

Edit: or some other conference accepting them but both you and I know that the only conference would be the WCHA.

FWIW........If the WCHA had rejected BSU's request to join the WCHA it would not have been the end of the road for BSU. Obviously the WCHA was by far the best option but it was not the only option.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Good Morning, Lodge!

It is going to be a long day at work. The label printer and cutter went down and we have to call customers to tell them that their order is being delayed. In some cases, again.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Good morning Lodge.

The correct term is senile.

Hey! I resemble that remark!

Hi Gonzo, if you're still around. How are the chickens?

Back from La Crosse. I would not want to be there this weekend - wouldn't want to see that place overrun with drunk 'sconnies for Octoberfest.

Just a note to all Lodgerians - the apostrophe (') is not used to create the plural form of a word, it is used to create the possesive form of the word. {sigh}. Did no one else take English in jr. high or middle school? I mean, I sucked at English in jr. high, but even I learned that!

Howdy Lodge. Back to work today. Found out one of my internal clients was fired on Monday. Oops!

Or rely on a "smart" phone that auto "corrects" everything.................

You have no idea how much I want to give you a hug or buy you a drink right now. Thank you, thank you for that post.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

I completely missed the misuse of the apostrophe that set off goldy :p

I see bad grammar often around these boards, but I didn't find any recent gross injustice when it comes to apostrophe usage.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Should of / Should have
Your / You're

Those are the two that annoy me the most. Although occassionally I fall prey to them as well.

I usually just say "shoulda" in informal places, like this or texting, for example. Which is probably annoying to people. :p

Your/You're and There/They're/Their are the 2 that I notice the most, but like you, occasionally I mistake them. Usually when I'm typing something quick and not thinking about what I'm actually typing.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

My buddy and I will occasionally mess with each other using poor grammar.
My favorite thing to do is ask him if he can borrow me something. Example: We used to work together and, as a department, we were all heading out for a birthday lunch for the boss. We were trying to sort out the driving situation and he said people could ride with him, but it would cost them a dollar. I looked right at him and asked if he could borrow me a dollar. I believe his response was, "I'm going to punch you in the face." I cracked up and no one else caught it. Good times.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Hey Goldy
F' off, is that apostrophe correct? :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

You know what they should do? take the money, then come out in the most tacky Pimp's and Hoes' outfits they can find. After that, Hobo would be fine because it doesn't have the girls in the band there with their woohaa's all out.

I think they should meet with the town hobo's and make sure its OK with them that they do it.

I don't think either of them meant to use the possesive in those posts. I know I shouldn't expect much from Monster in terms of grammar, but c'mon - he couldn't even decide how he wanted to misuse it. :p

And Wally, I'm not sure on that one, I've seen it as both 'F you and F' you, take it either way. ;)

ETA: 'Diva, feel free on the hug part, so long as my wife isn't around to see it. ;)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

There obviously's talkin 'bout Kelsey Grammers spelling of hi's own name's.

You will take my Harvard comma from my cold, dead, and lifeless hands.
