Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Just heard back from the auto guy. Apparently I had 4 blown fuses thanks to my Good Samaritan. They replaced them all, did a charge system test, and everything seems to check out. What a relief! They're taking it for a test drive (after which they'll tell me that the alignment still sucks...which I know) and then hopefully I'll get it back this afternoon.

I don't know how people work full-time and go to school full-time and cope with anything else in life. Any little bump in the road that changes my schedule and being so over-taxed already, I just lose my *****.
Thats what fuses are for! Good thing they did their job and no one replaced one with a paper clip at some point in the past. But definitely good news.

Edit - and while I'm knowledgeable enough about the Bible to know about the Good Samaritan, I'll be avoiding them in the future.

I did that for a bit during my last semester of undergrad classes, so I know how you're feeling right now. It's rough shizz. Hang in there, you can do this.
And that's good news about the fuses!

Yup - tcbg explained how they work when we were looking at them Monday night trying to figure out what to do at 10:30pm with a dead car in a dark parking lot.

I'm pretty relieved. We left the car there overnight Monday - Tuesday and there wasn't any damage (breaking in, etc) other than some water in the car because it rained and with power-windows and a shot battery/fuses, I couldn't put the windows all the way up (I'd left them down on Monday for ventilation since it was so warm). We got back to the car at 10:15 last night (got out of work late, of course) and by 11pm it was on the tow-truck.

Work work work. Which is a good thing.
Until I win the lottery ;)

How are you and tLodge doing?
I can't speak for the rest of the Lodge, but I'm doing well.
Went and got myself hitched this summer. :)
We're working on trying to find jobs back in the Cities; we need out of Ohio.
Otherwise, life's pretty good.

Morning all!

Busy day today. Have to hit Target, the jar store, maybe Bed Bath and Beyond, but I dunno if I'll have enough time.

If you have the day off, how can you *not* have enough time to go to 2-3 stores? I can't imagine they're hundreds of miles apart. :p

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

* you mr. "I can't go to Denver until Thursday". :p

That's when my flight is, which I booked months ago. Dumbarse. I just got today approved yesterday.

And to make the "whoosh" easy for you:

Frank: I told my wife I wouldn't drink tonight. Besides, I got a big day tomorrow. You guys have a great time.
College Student: A big day? Doing what?
Frank: Well, um, actually a pretty nice little Saturday, we're going to go to Home Depot. Yeah, buy some wallpaper, maybe get some flooring, stuff like that. Maybe Bed, Bath, & Beyond, I don't know, I don't know if we'll have enough time.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

You could have taken extra time off months ago and spared yourself the flight. :p

And I don't even know what that reference is from - my mind is functioning less well than usual. I blame Nebraska. In fact, I now blame Nebraska for everything, including your balding and MNS's bricking.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Wait, there are girls in Tech's band?
/obligatory
I believe there is some there. That or there's a few crossdressers at Tech who can reach Tech Hot in stripped overalls. ;)

I'd be all for neg-bombing dgoddard at this point. He can go suck Boone's wang. :)
What is he doing now??

Oh heck, who am I kidding?? like we really need a reason to unleash our fury??? :D

Having driven through Nebraska, even if I had the time, I'd still fly.

The reference is from Old School. My brother used that one out quite frequently after they bought a house and got married. I don't ask him what he'd doing on weekends anymore.

I'd be all for ritually murdering his family at this point, with as big of an *** as he's been. But I don't think I could handle multiple life sentences.

Gee, thanks. Now I'm having flashbacks to Kenny in drag. Not even the Tech scale could have saved that one.

Yay, errands are done. Now I just have to iron some shirts and pack. Is it tomorrow morning yet?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

So what's it like right now in the "Land of 10,000,000,000,000,000,000 mosquitos"? Just walked outside for lunch and got at least 6 bites. Little bastahds.

Hey guys... Back to the outside world... Les, shoot me an email when you get the time. I trust you to give you the details but I'm not going to blurt them out here. It's been a long and well travelled week, in a sense.

It's a miserable misty rain outside. Windy, too. Many of the insects froze off last week, when we had that chilly spell.
