Screw you cold-weather people. bbdl, you're about 30 degrees too cold on both ends of your description of a great day.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Good morning Lodge! Last day in the office as I head out to the Left Coast tonight for my annual Emmys trip. Naturally, after a gorgeous week weather wise, it's supposed to rain this afternoon. I hope it doesn't affect my flight tonight. It's at 7:10pm, scheduled to land in LA at 10:30 local time. I'm already exhausted, I am hoping it's not delayed at all. Cross your fingers for me!!

I'm calling 1:20pm for some work fire drill/emergency to pop up. That's what usually happens when I'm trying to head out on a trip.

How does facebook think that "People I might know" could be someone that I have 1 friend in common with? There must be hundreds of thousands of people that I have 1 friend in common with! There is also someone else that pops up that I have 111 common friends, they might have a point in that case. :p

30 degrees? hell no. I like the 50 degree overnights and high in the low 70s (if that).

Most definitely this.

Thirded.

Hello, guys (and girls). Just checking in. This whole 1 day off a week thing is going to make for a long semester. Added to that, work cut my hours by 10, so I'm 30hrs/wk instead of 40. At my minuscule wage, might be time to dust off the resume again. :(

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Sounds like the decisions that I have to make when I go bike riding. At least you don't have to deal with the storage issues for discarded clothing.
My preferred approach to cool weather (50s-low 60s) is to go with a long-sleeved jersey and shorts; I don't freeze to death by keeping my upper body covered, and I don't overheat later in the ride because my legs are exposed. I don't switch over to all cold weather gear until it's sub-50 the entire ride.

The only thing I hate about the colder starts is that the warm-up portion of the ride doubles in length and has to be done faster than usual to get my muscles loose. If it's above 70, that's simply not a problem.

My solution is that I don't ride a bike if the temperature is above -78 degrees F.

greyeagle: I just had to do a double take on facebook, friend from a completely different group of friends commented on your status, I was thinking w.t.f. is going on here until I realized that you probably work together :p

Good luck with your semester and finding more hours/better pay for work. I have gone back into full blown job searching mode.

I looked at my budget and realized my bank account is being depleted rather than added to. :( The current job is only my 2nd engineering job, so now I have a better idea of what to look for and what will work for me.
