Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

We got a frost warning for tomorrow night, low of 35. Here we go...

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Hope the Mrs. got the tomatoes covered.

Almsy and I did drive up to see the USHL exhibition game. Was 4-2 Cedar Rapids when this Gopher fan "beat the traffic." I have a long day tomorrow and I don't give a rat's azz who won. As Almington pointed out the offically announced hit of the game was an elbow thrown by Zajac.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

You're telling me!

Side note: each 5 years, we get to choose a gift from a pool of decent stuff. Got a Fossil watch for my 5-year (which reminds me, need to replace the battery before Denver). For my 10-year, I got a Samsonite "office on wheels" sorta thing. Basically an enlarged laptop case that has wheels and a handle. It's not a gold watch, but it works. I like free stuff.

Although, there were better things I could have had, but would have been worthless to me, such as the steel portable firepit, or the outdoor Weber charcoal grill (the latter I have already, and the former would never be used).

We get come pin that gets attached to a pennant and certificate. Oh, and they bring in some pastries to be shared amongst your group.

I should really get out of the trust operations world and into another line of work.

Let it freeze. Bring on the cold.

* you.

Edit: Clown: we used to have "holiday" (still irked at the non-demoninational or whatever name) parties, and paid-for lunches on a regular basis. Those are long gone. I'm surprised they still do this.

Wasnt a bad time, once we moved away from the insanely loud horn. Definitely an exhibition game, as neither team looked particularly energized for the game.

The rink was NHL sized (or so we were told) but had really shallow corners that made it look much smaller, DECC sized almost.

That's not complaining, son. That's bragging to the wimps who can't handle the heat. :p

I will admit though, that since they've buttoned up the warehouse for the cold weather, the negative air pressure inside the building makes opening doors a bit dangerous since they are pulled/slammed shut.

That would make it an adventure.

The only challenge right now that the weather provides is if I decide to wear a long-sleeve T, sweatshirt/T that I can peel off once I get working, or just a T, and deal with the colder air until I get moving.

What's funny is, in March, this would be no-sleeve T and shorts weather. Heck, 40 degrees and it would be that type of weather. :D

Sounds like the decisions that I have to make when I go bike riding. At least you don't have to deal with the storage issues for discarded clothing.

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!! thursday. not friday.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Morning.

Doing a bit of work this morning so as to not dump a bunch of stuff on my co-worker while I am gone. Then off to the ATL for the weekend.

Supposed to be warm there. So, enjoy the cold suckers! :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

10 second glow plug day this morning!
Brent, I don't know what you're talking about, the weather this morning was just about as good as it gets. There is nothing better than a good crisp 30 degrees when you wake up, with the weather warming to the mid-50's during the day.

That sucks. Why would go there just as the weather is getting nice here?
