Morning.

My first Friday in the office in ages. I don't like it I tell you! Oh well, at least I get to enjoy free bagel/donut Friday now. :)

Headed to Atlanta next week to watch Mets @ Braves, oh and to see my parents I guess.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Good morning, lodge.

Not much planned for me this weekend. I should get some yard work done on Saturday, but I have to run down to my parents house to pick up my chainsaw, because I have some more wood to cut before I do anything else. I also would like to get my stump ground, but I've called 3 different services, left messages and gotten no response. How do people think that is a sound way to run a business?

Considering going to Pickle Park to see Lost Highway tonight, they are going to have a mechanical bull there...if not that, a neighbor is getting married and I was invited to go over to the reception later on. There is always the chance that I end up at TK's Saturday night.

Until Scarlet stops drinking martinis.

Well, I'm thinking this thread will never close then. ;)

OK you folks out there that do a lot of cooking...I have a 5 lb. bag of sugar in my pantry that I've had for a while and never opened. It's like a brick now. What can you do the....un-brick(?)....it? Need to use it for baking something. If it's a lost cause, so be it. But it seems like a shame. Would putting iti n the microwave work?

I would not put it in the microwave...
You will have to physically break it up somehow, I would guess. Put the big chunk of sugar into a pot and smash it with the bottom of a heavy skillet?

Edit: or break it into smaller chunks with a knife and use a food processor to break it up into its normal grains

Booo. Just got off the phone with a recruiter with CSX. I'm a perfect fit for their engineering and track maintenance staff... But I'd need to relocate to wherever they assigned me. No choice of which of the 23 states they're in I'd go.

I'm kinda bummed out.

And speaking of baking, I need to make more cookies today.
