GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!! wobbly wednesday

Time trials this AM for Lil. Up since dawn. Dropped him off, load of laundry in and first batch of cookies in the oven. Choc zucchini cake next, more laundry and a flying visit later to work for the goodbye party of the colleague I am not mourning leaving. (she has whined since she got there about how things should be better for her. I know the person she is going to next. Can't wait to hear the outcome. The chick had no idea how good she had it.) Don't let the door hit you on the way out :D Couldn't be hapier re the departure!

Morning Lodge.

les, I tried that Ancestry website freebie. It ignored my grandpa's first name and country of origin and even the correct spelling of the last name and gave me 1400 hits of names similar to his last name. WTH good is that? With no filter it's worthless. I guess that's what free gets me, huh?

You have to be careful with 'correct' spelling. It may be correct, but it also may not be what is in the records themselves. All the old records are done by hand, and a lot in cursive writing. So they have to be manually translated to a digital format.

I know, but the site gave me spellings with an added letter that is a different name. I know the history of the family name and am sure he came over with the same one he left the old country with.

When you search it has little boxes below the name click use default settings and that should give you a bunch of choices. You can restrict to exact as far as name, last name, place, etc You can also restrict by collection as well (ie Scottish, Canadian, German)

Get your Dead Pool lists to me by midnight tonight! Anyone can put a list together, and people that participated last year can simply let it ride for this year, or replace your people that died with new ones, or submit a completely new list.

Morning all. the usual I'm bored at work post. Coworker and I have debated between having a starring contest, or maybe a shin kicking contest perhaps. We both don't have anything on the schedule, and heck, even our head therapist here just has a 90 right now, and then about a 3 hours of Nothing as well.

However, got the new phone activated, and now its just the process of getting all of the little settings set up to where I think I'll want them. finally joined the 21st centrury and went with a smart phone. A whole lot of bells and whistles on it. right now my one complaint about it is that some of the older numbers in it don't seem to want to show up when I want to send someone a picture. would think it would just be simpler to have a list of them all pop up that I could just check off. Probably something in the settings yet I guess.

Cookies baked. Choc Zuke cake in the oven. Lil back home (2nd man after his buddy, ahead of all the upperclassmen except the one who wasn't there), has picked beans and is now on the summer project (heh), now for more laundry, cleaning etc. I am ready for bed already.

I assume you get paid based on how many clients you serve? So does this hurt your bottom line?

I should show up with the wife just to shock people. Oh, and get Greyeagle and Mrs. Greyeagle to go too.
You should! You're definitely welcome to show up. I'm guessing that we'll eat dinner there, so if you want to come out and have something to eat you'd be able leave before it gets too rowdy.

These. Yes.

bb_dl: I might not be there for a dinner part, I'm meeting up with a friend from Northern. Maybe I can talk her and her boyfriend in to joining us there, but I don't know if TK's is their kind of place.

The kid and I are driving back from a buddy's cabin that afternoon/evening so I doubt it will work out this time, but I'll think about it.

It sure as hell isn't my kind of place, but I'm heading there right now to meet some buddies for lunch.
