Why am I going to NYC this weekend?

A general disregard for your own personal safety, it would seem. Seriously though, I wouldn't mess with this weather... the east coast should weaken this storm quite a bit, but only go if you're sure to be safe/sturdy.

I think my team is safe now.

Or, we all go down together. Either or.

Unrelated to conference realignment fuckery, I need a drink. I just got some bad news from home-- my uncle owned the 100 acre farm that has been on my mom's side of the family since the 1800's. His horrible, greedy, straight up c-u-next Tuesday of a wife drained him dry, and she had him sell it to pay off the debt. :( I could go on and on about the horrors this woman has put my uncle through, but it'll just make me want to start punching things even more. 150 years of family history, gone. Just like that.

Diva, couldn't he have sold it to a family member for $1 and declared bankruptcy?

And my parents wonder why I'm single. JFC.

Hoops and Yoyo need to die in a fire.
This. Thankfully the battery died in the only Hoops and Yoyo card I received a long time ago.

Evening, Lodge.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Facebook keeps suggesting that I add my boss as a friend. Now, mind you, we're a pretty laid back organization (I've never seen so many things handled via text message) and my boss is only a couple of years older than me, but that still is a pretty big, "uh, no, not happening".

Facebook keeps suggesting to me an ex that was cheating on me. I have something like 30 friends on FB, and I have no idea who we have in common that causes her to get suggested to me continually. Like you said, not going to happen. And she hasn't aged well.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

That's depressing 'diva.

Went out for a Thursday night beverage with a couple of friends to my usual place. Hottie bartender was working at the bar downstairs. Boo. One of the bartenders upstairs was relatively new (he was "in training" a few months ago) and he was not good. Never put our food order in, forgot our bread, missed my friends' request for a refill of wine. Hottie bartender came up to say hi and we said "Dude.....don't ever work downstairs on Thursdays again." The other bartender is a good guy and after chatting with him for a while, turns out he grew up in Arlington and went to the same elementary school, junior high and high school as me, though a few years after me.

Dragged my umbrella with me all day today. Did it rain at all? Nooooo. And it got ridiculously humid out all of a sudden. Precursor to Irene perhaps?

The situation gets super complicated (because of the thing he married), and there were tax issues, too, so no. :( Believe me, we tried helping him find EVERY option and there wasn't much that could be done.

And my parents wonder why I'm single. JFC.

And he's a Tech alum. So... yeah, you might be on the right path, kid.
