Morning Lodge. Not reading back ~4-5 pages I missed.

Hope Irene spares all the East Coast members here.

Fair yesterday was fun, tiring and expensive, could get more expensive as Mrs and I are considering buying a Sleep Number bed on fair special.

Thats not really a fair expense if you need a new bed. You're actually saving money by going to the fair.

Your farmland is west of Red Wing? That general area with all the bluffs and such is gorgeous. If my commute wouldn't totally suck ***, I could see myself living down there. It's not yet totally packed with ****tards like the immediate metro is.

We're west of Red Wing, East of Cannon Falls, right next to the Welch Ski Area. We have 4 different farms on the hills on the south side of the river, 1 is west of the ski area, one is directly above the ski area and 2 are east of the ski area. It adds up to about 4000 acres (mostly wooded with about 1500 tillable) in the bluffs around Welch.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Whenever I get around to riding the Cannon Valley trail/path (spans the 20 miles from Cannon Falls to Red Wing), I'll go right by all of it. I'll probably try to do that in the fall when the leaves start changing colors.

Yeah, we border the trail right-of-way in many locations.

We like that trail a lot and often ride it. Not yet this year though.

If you can handle road riding, I highly recommend US-61 - nice scenery and a wide shoulder so getting clipped by traffic isn't too big a risk.

There are alot better roads down my way than 61, unless you're talking about 61 south of Red Wing, along Lake Pepin, that would be a scenic ride. Around my area 61 just hits the edge of what would be the scenic areas.

I was referring to south of Red Wing - the area I biked through a couple weeks ago. Water on the left side, bluffs on the right. Absolutely beautiful.

3 hour meeting being led from someone from corporate. Shoot. Me. Now. edit: did I add that it is over lunch? **** this. I'm leaving for lunch in 45 minutes.

I've heard that it is even more scenic from the Wisconsin side, looking across the lake towards Minnesota.

I don't tweet any more for a couple reasons:

A) Most of the people who know me on Twitter also know me on Facebook, so there's no real point.
2) My phone always worked kinda wonky with it. I'd tweet, then it would show up a full day later.
D) I had a rather epic meltdown after I missed a flight home on Christmas Eve a couple years ago. I basically called out God and threatened to kick his ***. It's something I'm not proud of.

Frankly, I don't see the point of Twitter unless you have a Crackberry, or one of those new-fangled "smart" phones. Even if you do, I don't get the hype.

One last meeting to freedom. In a couple hours, I'll be grilling a steak - pretty good weather in 248-ville today.

Its a combination of BSing with friends like the facebook wall, comedy from reading tweets from people like Biznasty2point0, and useful for stuff like trade deadline day in ____ league where you get the most up-to-date information immediately. But yeah, I'm pretty sure that I'd never use it and never would have signed up for it if it wasn't for my Droid.
