Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Am I the only person in the northeast to NOT even notice there was an earthquake?

Were you driving at the time? It makes them tougher to feel, unless it's a monster. Yours was pretty big, but no monster.

Earthquakes can feel either like a truck smashing into your building (P-waves) or rolling like you're on a rough subway ride (S-waves.) Did you have a sudden unexplained dizzy spell? That might have been it.

13:51? I believe I was sleeping at the time. Didn't notice a **** thing. I live on the third floor.

Likely a heavy sleeper then. I've slept through high 4's/low 5's before. We had a 5.6 with some nice rolling action that woke me up a couple weeks ago.

And before anyone asks about me sleeping at 2PM, no, I'm not turning into RFalph. :D

No one at my office felt it but others in town said they felt it enough to get scared. Since living in this house (15 yrs) we have had 2 earthquakes I felt- one felt and sounded like an explosion and was only a few miles away. The other was a 2.4 and the whole house shook for about 30secs. Yest- nothing.

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!! wobbly wednesday.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Morning Ladies!

I would of slept straight through last night from about 5 pm on if not for a fire alarm at 10:45. Upside i guess is chatting with some of the cute neighbors I have while waiting in the parking lot.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Then this morning, my boss calls me into her office to tell me the big boss and the woman heading up the planning for the 100th anniversary both specifically asked for me to be the account manager (as they are just realizing they need one on this). I was like "Wow, they asked for me??? Totally flattered and ABSOLUTELY!!" I've heard about some of the cool stuff they have planned so I'm really psyched that I got on this. There's lots of opportunity for exposure to the higher ups on this one. Should be a busy 12 months.

Well, they all know you throw a hell of a party. Congrats!

Morning Lodge. I didn't feel the quake while in SE MN.;)

At work, waiting for my first client to come in. Also the girlfriend is here to work on Chris, our head therapist. TK has to give a few massages out to several other therapists that are on the approved list from AAIMT, and Chris is on that list. Going to be an interesting day. :o

Good morning, Lodge. No earthquake here, but there was a nice storm last night.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Interesting. The Dept. of Commerce might have unclaimed money for me (>$100). I will have to wait to hear back from them to be sure though.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Wow, renewing a driver's license is so much faster than it used to be. I remember the days of going to the DMV and having to take a number and sit there for 15 minutes before I could even deal with the stupid application. Today, I just started it immediately, handed it to the lady at the counter, went to do the quick vision test, got my picture taken, and was done - all in < 5 minutes.

Still idiotic that they only take cash or Brent forms of payment, though.

The Anchorage DMV is notoriously packed. I get out of Anchorage and hop 10 minutes up the road to Eagle River (small bedroom community outside Anchorage and the local military base.) Hardly ever anyone in line.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

There's DMV's all over the place here; I think my suburb has a couple, plus there are more in adjacent suburbs (I went to the one in Inver Grove Heights since it's actually a little closer/faster trip than to the ones in Eagan). Of course, my schedule helps in this case (for once), since I can deal with this sort of thing in the late morning on a weekday when most people are working.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

What's up, lodge. Headed back to work today, Syr-Charlotte-Nashville overnight with the Captain then to the boat tomorrow am.

Looks like I'm realllly glad I'm not moving into school in NYC on Sunday. Yikes, talking a foot of rain there and it will be a cat 2 around then.

Also found out I can leave my car at the dealership when I fly out usually. That could become VERY clutch, as it means I don't need family to drive 3 hours to come pick me up.
